GA 1989 GXL with oil leak

Another car that I am considering. Would this situation require a complete rebuild?

As described:

The big issue is the engine, which I rebuilt, but the rear dowel pin oring didn't seat right , so it leaks oil. I have some extra o-rings and new water seals if you want to take on the project. ($200 value.) Clutch is brand new, polyurethane motor mounts, transmission mounts, etc. I slightly ported the aux and primary ports of the motor, and other than vacuum leaks I haven't solved because of the oil leak; seemed to run really strong and not smoke (so apex seals, porting, etc good). The engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced with its sizable oil leak. Will need to be towed

GA

Year and model information would have helped.

1989 GXL. Sounds like power everything. Couple of small dents. Good paint. Everything else works.

I was told that the car will start, and that it could go around the block, but would leave a trail of oil. But could drive it on a trailer.

its easy to mix up the dowel vs oil pedestal o-rings, or just leave em out!

if you feel like buying a car, pulling the engine out to rebuild it, this car sounds good.

He says he would like to get $1k. But I believe i can get it for a fair amount less. There are a couple of reasons he stated that makes me think he is needing to move it. His apartment won't allow it to sit and his parents are moving.

Where in Washington are you located? I grew up there myself, off of Malone Ridge Road. Haven't been back since 2005 for a visit. Need to get back soon, I'm missing Shorty's and Osso's.

Trinity High School, class of '83.

Malone Ridge in Wolfdale? Lol yea, I'm not even 5 minutes away, on Henderson avenue by the Foodland. Weird. Shorty's = the ****. I graduated Trinity too, 04 though.

Ehh I don't think. I wanna say he graduated in '69, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, back to the topic. I don't think anyone should pay close to a grand for an FC that needs a rebuild. Unless there is something about the car that makes it worth that, even with a blown engine. But I doubt it.
