Or its low on fluid???? I'd say clean it up, silicone the crap out've it for a temporary fix, if you fill the trans and it drives better, drop the pan and reseal it. Course, this isn't saying that the filter is plugged either

i hope not, but im pretty sure its the original auto so it could be a possibility.
you could hear a tiny rattle when he was driving it up the court wich didnt sound good but i think it might be coz the ATF is very low.
the auto seems to shift fine and not slip.
when i get a chance ill fix the sump and top up the ATF, to stop the smoking and have a look from there, maybe it could be part of the stalling problem but i doubt it either way ill have to look at the auto first
thanks again for the input SATCH.

i checked the auto dipstick after the car had ran wich i should have done before the car was started, but i didnt think the auto was leaking and it was really low.
the car hadnt been moved in a while and i noticed oil on the ground under the auto.
the problem must of been starting when the car was put aside years ago.
the car shifts fine and doesnt slip, its just the lack of power on the kickdown and that the car was struggling to get up the driveway using slight throttle wich isnt good
