But in all seriousness, there is no reason to say it's not a GT because of a non-turbo hood. If you put a turbo hood on your car, does it make it TII? No.

Also, there may have been a turbo model with 4 lugs. You never know. Just like Mazda said only S5 Tubro's came with an LSD. Even though the GTUs also came with an LSD.

And I won the internets for all the day! I am awesome haha
The fact that the OP said it's a non-turbo is enough to say that it's not a turbo, unless he's lying/mistaken.

No turbo model was sold from the factory with 4 lugs. Additionally, Mazda never said that only the S5 turbos came with an LSD; it may have used a different kind of LSD from other FCs (I don't know on that one), but S4 GXLs and Turbos came with an LSD, as did S5 Turbos and GTUs's.

I know that S4 TII's and GXL's had an LSD. But Mazda only stated, let me say it again, that during the S5 production run, ONLY the Turbo model was equipped with an LSD.

It's in the FAQ that you love so much. Haha.

But also you never know, he could not know it's turbo.

Or a previous owner decided they wanted a sleeper, so they put a NA hood on it, which in turn smothered the intercooler, the engine blew at some point, so they swapped in a spare NA engine they had laying around.

And as for the 4 lug, maybe they were doing auto-x and forgot to tighten the wheels down all the way (saw it happen on an FD on youtube) and the wheels broke the lug nuts off, so the car smashed into the ground, braking the hubs on the car.

He just so happened to have a 4 lug sitting around, so he swapped all the parts over. ????

You never know, it could happen haha.

I mean let's be honest, the frame could have rusted out and maybe someone swapped in the whole frame and drivetrain from a foxbody Mustang GT! It works, because it's a GT too! They are 4 lug cars with the same bolt pattern. I mean hey, it could happen.

That was obviously a joke, but that for some odd reason wasn't clear. :]
