13B-TT in an FC?
Does anyone know if an FD engine and tranny will fit in an FC? Im looking for a turbo engine and tranny for my 1990 N/A and i was thinking about the 13B-TT as a possibility but wasnt sure if it worked, I'm not sure if the engine will fit or what I would need. And also does anyone know of any succesfull swaps, if there are any.
Thanks alot

You might try searching now that it's enabled again. I personally don't have any experience, but from everything I've read, it seems hardly worth the effort. Most folks would tell you to just swap in a T2 motor as it's almost "plug-and-play". I tihnk I read a thread awhile back that someone did this swap in a weekend.
The motor mounts on the FD are completely different than the FC -- and small gains in stock HP. For the money saved in the swap to T2, you could spend the money on mods on the T2 engine and be farther along.
If you really want the twin turbo setup, look into the 13B RE engine from a Cosmo. Motor mounts are closer to stock locations. Still a little more difficult swap than a T2 engine, but a slightly "better" motor in some respects. And it comes stock with twins...
If you have an unlimited budget, forget a 2 rotor and go 20B. Go check the 20B forum here if you really want to know, but from what I can gather, expect to spend $20k - $30k on the swap. Again, no personal experience on these, but I've seen some comments that the FD swap is almost that expensive, as difficult or more difficult, and does not give you significant gains in HP.

S5 13BT = $1500 for used JSpec, or up to $3k for new rebuilt
S4/5 TII Drivetrain = about $1500
Misc parts and money for Excedrin = $500
Time = How good are you at major mechanical work?
If I was budgeting time for myself, I would set back at least a week straight to do it, but I have a bit of experience in pulling these engines, so I have a little pratice....

stay away from Mazda, they generally do not know what they are doing when it comes to rotary engines. No matter how good they say there "specialist" is, they can't compare to a real RX-7 shop.

fc3s.org has TII transmissions in stock.
You also need: driveshaft, halfshafts, differential, throttle cable, clutch slave cylinder, boost sensor, knock control box (if you have 86-88), TID, down pipe, clutch/flywheel (if you get a jspec..some come in automatic), brake booster hardlines w/ check valve, boost gauge, and a starter.
its a bitch to find parts enless you got a parts car.
