13b Gpm Of Pump?

86 13B, WHAT GPM DOES THE STOCK FUEL PUMP MAKE. I HAVE TO RUN A EXTERNAL INLINE FUEL PUMP. I KNOW THE 13B PUMP PRODUCES 64-85 PSI, BUT WHAT GPM?

2.28 to 3.44 gallons per minute.

But why are you doing an external pump??? There is no reason. Most external pumps can not reach the PSI that a in tank gas cooled pump will.

And your caps all on, means you are shouting. Stop shouting.

This is going in a rock buggy, so it has to be a external pump. That is a lot of GPM? I read in the 88 factory service manual it should be atleast 1.3 gpm. im not shure what it should be exactly, so i wanted to ask.

Factory figure in the specs section of the shop manuals is in liters. I just converted.

The one I read said gpm in us gallons. I just called aertex, the manufacturers of fuel pumps. They told me the rx7 fuel pump has 60-95 psi with 55gph which is .92 gpm.

Sounds like the specs for their replacement part has those specs.

As the Mazda factory specs for the fuel pump for PSI are 71.1 to 92.4 with a feed capacity of 2200 to 3300 cc/Min

so do you think a good mod would be a 3rd gen fuel pump in a 2nd gen along with a safc and 720cc secondaries.

Are you sure you converted that right?

When I remembered that the Walbro 255 is in Ltr/H which is liters per hour. Now there are 3.8 liters per gallon so we can translate 255 ltr.h to 67.1 gal/h(gallons per hour) take that and divide by 60 to get the gal/m(gallons per minute) and you get 1.118 << now you said the stock pump is 2.28-3.44 gpm how can the Walbro 255 be an upgrade if its way lower in gpm than stock?

Sorry but I might be completly wrong but I just wanted to ask. Sorry if I made a noob mistake somewhere in the math.

Santiago

Thanks in advance Mark.

well lets see... 2200 cc/min is equal to .57 US quart/min.. so yep I did my math wrong. Multipled when I should have divided.

Ok then 1cc= 0.001 L

then I took the median of 2200 and 3300 which is 2750cc's and divided by 1k which is 2.75 then divided by 3.8 which is 0.723 gpm woot! If thats wrong let us know guys.

FC turbo is like a little over 50gph.
FC non-turbo is more like 40gph.
Divide by 60 to get gpm.
These numbers shouldn't be over 1.0!

SO FINAL ANSWER IS .723, .92 OR 1.3 GPM? I SEE HERE ITS ANYWHERE BETWEEN .723 TO 1.3 GPM. THE BEST INLINE FUEL PUMP I CAN FIND IS .67 GPM AT 70-95 PSI. IF THE 13B IS .72 AT 65-95 PSI,

WHAT PROBLEMS WILL I HAVE WITH THE SMALLER GPM?
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A INLINE PUMP THAT PRODUCES THE 13B'S REQUIRED #'S?

SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS, IM NOT YELLING!

The figure I stated should be the average gpm for the stock pump. In my personal view I wouldn't opt for a lesser gpm pump. It can only creat problems by leaning out.

Don't run a smaller pump.
Aeromotive makes inline pumps that flow 1.4-1.8GPM.
Your project is stupid. Rock crawlers need the bottom end torque of a piston engine. A rotary has NO bottom end torque. Your project will fail.

Are you stupid?

Why are you trying to run a SMALLER fuel pump than stock???
Are you going to convert to carbs or something?
USED NA fuel pumps are cheap and plentiful.
Why are you so stubborn about getting an aftermarket one?
You can get a Walbro 190lph fuel pump for under $100.

Well, if you knew anything about cars, you could easily have found an inline pump.

Its obvious you have no clue what you're doing. no matter what gears you use, rock crawling with a rotary is going to be a failing event (though it'll be funny as hell hearing a rotary at 7000 rpm in a vehicle moving 3mph [as a result of your compensated gearing]).

Quick question: how old are you and how many chassis have you built in total for any competition use?
