did NO ONE read that it was done with a g-tech? maybe some of you just really trust those things with all your life. i mean, its obviously pretty fast if the gtech is reading a 13.8, but not a true 1/4 time. but i still don't see whats the big deal except most no one goes very far with an n/a. and everyone who claims anything gets flamed. its a fucked up cycle.

It better be at least in the 13's with a statement like that or else your the funny one...?

13.8 is great for n/a fc's, but in the grand scheme of things....it's not very fast at all. To me that's why it's funny. I run a 13.8@103-104 and my car feels slow to me. Speed is relative.

G-tech is relative. and it sucks for measuring 1/4 times.
i could go install a g-tech in my 91 GXL and insert my weight totally wrong and squeeze out a 13.9 with no problem. a 13 second pass at a drag strip is what we are all trying for, not a 13 second g-tech pass going downhill on the highway.

2.3-2.4
[excuses]
I'm on azeni's, which are great autox tires but super stiff sidewalls suck for launching. My rear shocks are completely blown so I can't drop the clutch, or even ride then drop. I have to slip the clutch off the launch, and I'm still getting used to this car. Before the t2 I drove a gsr, which being torqueless, n/a, and fwd, is launched just a bit differently. [/excuses]
The g-tech's are usually within a few tenths in my experience but tend to give a trap speed 3 or 4 mph to high. But then 13.8 is just barely into the 13's as well, so like everyone has said, get a timeslip then post about being in the 13's.

He has been drag racing for 25 years. Don't think he would pull our leg on "that website".
That website happens to be the most imformative, non-BS website there is dealing with 2nd. Gen. RX-7's.
If you ever really wanna learn about our cars, you should go there.
It's comprised of a bunch of knowledgable people who would rather help you than flame you.

but my point is that turbos are very easy to make fast.
NAs jus take little more work, jus tune them and shift MAD FAST

I watched a guy in a brand new Z06 the other day, run a 14.7!!!!
Slow times in any car are much easier to obtain than fast times!
My car is capable of 11 second time slips. My last few runs were in the low 13's! Why? Because my driving skills suck!

Maybe we should "standardize" a true test of a "1/4-mile run"?
I propose...
*NO SLICKS, drag radials are ok - slicks are tricky, and they are not a "true" run of a "street car" in my book.  Slicks can break drivetrain parts, so it's safer to keep the cars off them.  A high 14-second non-slick NA FC can easily run a 13.xx on a really sticky set of slicks.
*printed timeslip - no timing computers; staring down a christmas tree is a lot harder than dumping the clutch down some back road.
*"street legal" - there's a lot of leeway on a definition, but if it passes the local inspection, I won't bitch much.  A dedicated race car kinda takes away the spirit of the challenge.

A car with big HP will gain or lose a full second with or without slicks, but not a 14 sec car.
I'd say 2-4 tenths TOPS with the same driver and conditions.
My NITTO 555R's made a big diffrence in my launches and 60ft's (2.0's-1.8's), but certianly not a full second in the 1/4.

As far as the timeslip goes, I'd like to see a timeslip too, but just because I trust timing devices at a nhra sanctioned track more so than the ghetto-tech. As far as staring at the christmas tree, I could wait 5 seconds and then drop the clutch, the timer doesn't trip until I move the car, not when the last light goes green.
Street legal takes about 75 percent of the cars on the site off. Honestly how many people on the boards are running cats and the rest of their emissions? I junked mine within the first month of owning the car. My car is emissions legal for 1 day every year, or rather about 2 hours every year.
Also, is fc3s-pro ever going to be back up
