sounds great and all but a bit overkill for what i want, i just wanted some 'cheap' decent sounding bass, not a trunk destroyer. but thanks for the advice.

I had a pioneer h/u (not too expensive but not the low end models) and I absloutely hated it. ..the sound quality was terrible... so I traded it to my brother for his 3 year old eclipse headunit... which is awesome... but I wanted something that had an integrated sat. radio function... so I got the alpine... and It has good sq it just wont push my sub... So I will check everything you guys suggested.
Thanks!

yeah, if it is the same head unit, the top two outputs are just regular aux outputs, and the bottom is the subwoofer output, it should work nicely after you fix it

I have a 10in RF with a 200w amp that used to hit really hard(louder than my friend's 12s) with my eclipse headunit but wont do anything with this alpine. I have the bass all the way up, and the sub volume all the way up but you can barely hear it (defeat is off)... any tips for getting more out of it or should I just put the eclipse back in (don't really want to spend more on bigger amp/ diff sub)?
Maybe the sub isn't on. On alpine units, you can turn the subwoofer off. It may be different for each alpine model, but check to make sure the your deck has your subwoofer turned on from the deck. The sound quality of Alpines is much better than Pioneers in my opinion

ummmmm.....he already mentioned that he has the subwoofer output set to 15+ abd the bass set to 15+ in his orginal post, just thought id mention it, not trying to be a dick about it or anything either. and yes, ive had and experianced all kinds of decks, eclipse, pioneer, alpine, jvc, dual, jensen, sony, panasonic and out of all the best sounds came out of the eclipse, but most dont or cant spend a good 800$+ on a deck so alpine is by far the best for what you spend. IMO
