10th anniversary How Much?
I saw this anniversary RX-7 for sale.. went there and checked out the car.
the details are
Mint repaint (of course)
Can see a tiny bit of rust mark from the rear wheel wells... only..
180000kms.
Good interier.. the leather is cracking abit.. not tearing up though.
Everything works except
1) Sunroof rail need to be replaced on one side
2) Door handle (easy fix)
Took it for a spin... found
The engine runs smooth.. no viberations and so on.
Tranny is good, but found it abit hard to put into gears 2 and 3rd. Might be the syncro
Suspension i firm.. not losen feels.. so the suspension is still good.
Brake.. not warped.. but not very responsive. Checked the master cylinder.. seems never replaced.. might be the problems... might be the caliper too.. who knows.
the A/C is stil working which is amazing..
the tires are good too.
So how much you gusy think this car worth IYHO?
he is asking 6500 of course with the sunroof and door handle fixed.
Good deal.. I just hate the repaint ..

I like the 10th AE, for all the factory white effects, and what it stands for. what color os the repaint? white, why hate? I'd try to lower the price for the syncro prob.

Yeah it's white .. repaint it white is a good thing for sure.
But I still think 6500 for that is too high..
it's hard to find a fair price for that age... but AE does keep its value better

I like AE's as well. Would I pay a bit more to own one, sure. Would I pay a lot more, probably not.
Its the heaviest S4 TII, but has leather, special badges, steering wheel, shifter, floor mats etc. Unless all these things are still included with the car, it shouldn't cost much more than a regular TII.
6500 CDN sounds about right for a good condition AE in Ontario. That's just asking price anyway...

Thanks for the reply..
I was wondering why people gave so much extra credits to AE.
wish it's an original AE.

I don't own one, that's why I'm just asking.
Maybe i will never won one either and all I can do is wondering. Or being jealous all the time

I own a "mint" AE, original paint, in excellent running condition. $6500 is in the ball bark if it's mint-I think anyway. I'd try and talk him down dwelling on "all the problems" with the gears and so on.

What pisses off J-Rat is when I mention the FACT that the 10AE has no collector value (except in his own mind, lol). It is possible that some day it will have some value and he can get his revenge on my statement of this current fact, but I seriously doubt it because the 10AE edition is pretty much an aesthetic-only trim, which has historically not commanded collector value.
Although it is good for any consumer to check current pricing as a reference point, the bottom line with the purchace of any used car is what it is worth to the buyer, not what it is worth to the seller or anybody else.

Oh my god, are you serious! Yep, thats pissing me off!!!...
True, I didn't go into specifics because I consider the number insignificant. Note that I did mention that it was a limited-edition car (it's the part where I mention that the non-limited edition TII actually retained MORE resale value, lol.)
It does make me sad to see them get stripped, repainted other colors, and just generally turned into a regular TII, but thats the right of the owner of the car to do what he wants. Even I am modifying mine (to a point).

I dunno, maybe I like the prestige (you will probably argue this point too) of owning a limited edition car.

If you want my honest opinion, both the regular TIIs and the 10th AEs are undervalued because we let them go at low prices.

I also like the looks of the 10th AE. In my opinion, its by far the best looking of the FCs.
