Even I have crossed the from my S5 snobbishness into the S4 arena for one of these.
My 10AE arrived today.
Needs engine/ paint/ seats.
Various other random things.
Hopefully ill stop at 5K on the restoration cost...
A actually came out here tonight to research the parts and reliability mods for 1988 turbos.
I have really wholly INGNORED these S4 cars because I kind feel that they are the short-bus and/or neaderthal versions of the S5 cars.
Although S4 turbos are usually are more stout, S5s are smarter and in my opinion more refined.
I always wonder about that damn S5 OMP gadget though.
I HAVE to learn more about htat stepper based circuit and how to either redirect the oil flow into a fule rail or SOMTHING to allow it to run premix oil and then press that into the fuel rail under pressure to emulate premix witout the hassle of pouring it in the tank.
I have also thought that maybe having somthig read the value of the fuel gauge and then metering out oil into the gas tank based on that.
I dunno.
Anyway, I'm a 10 AE owner, I almost bought 2.
Whew... good thing that the EBAY auction ended quick on that 2nd one.

Awesome. For some reason I love the look of the AE. My white 88TII is getting that paint scheme in a few months. Screw the black trime. I just wish I had that leather interior.
So, I am curious. I honestly cant believe that 1500 made number. There are just so many floating around. Anyone got an honest reference online for production numbers?

Dang! There are 3 right here in Columbus, OH. 1 just got wrecked recently though. I also thought they were really rare when I got mine. Then one pops up, and then another.. All within 30 miles of eachother. It's pretty funny. We should try to compile them all and see how many we come up with.

I have a 10th AE also, got it for 1900$ with blown seals, got a new 91 JDM motor for 1100$ with tax, its still in the works of being able to run though..
on ur 3 they have white emblems on the rear, mine are black, do they come both ways or maybe the guy i bought it from swaped them or something, not sure..

They are all white.
No other colors for the 10AE...
YOu know they should have made the GTU the 10A car.
