10AE: return Intake to stock or aftermarket?
So my wife's 10AE has some custom intake that was fabricated by who knows who, and we need help.
We cannot find a filter that fits due to the lack of room, so she wants to either replace the whole thing back to stock or have a pipe fabricated with more room to be able to replace the filter
What do you guys suggest?

I'm partial to the stock intake myself, especially since you have the MAF. If you can find one near you then I would just restore the stock system.
If not, then getting someone to make a simple pipe shouldn't be too expensive.

Ideally she would love to return it to stock, but we cannot find anyone who has all the parts available. What all would be needed to return it to stock?

I know what you mean about the snorkel, thank you. Based on what can be seen, is that the stock bpv? I'm 100% unfamiliar with the stock items, so I'm gonna need to look for all the part #s for it so I don't buy the wrong parts

I agree on returning it to its original intake system. Not only will it function correctly, but it will look great and add value to the car! I keep my 10AE as original as possible and you will find that it will run great and be easier to diagnose potential issues with a car that's original or mostly original.

i would do stock as well, plan on buying a new TID, old ones will be bad.
plan B would be something you can buy a filter for, like the HKS RS setup

Do you know if any of these parts are interchangeable from turbo and N/A? Like the coupler that links the box to snorkel, for example...
Also, is the duct and box interchangeable with all FC turbo years, or specific to 87-88?

N32613201D - snorkel
N32613320B - whole box assemly
N37013220 - intake hose

All right, after more digging, it seems to me that the N/A and turbo shares all the same part #s, except for the intake hose that connects to the turbo, naturally. With that said, I should be able to go on eBay and buy some 'clean' looking box, snorkel and coupler and buy the intake hose brand new. What do you guys think?

yep that is correct. every 86-88 Rx7 has the same box and snork. its just the hose(s) to the engine that are different
the top of the box is the same 86-91. the bottom and snork stuff changes though.

Could you please clarify this? We have the OEM MAF that should go underneath the box as long as we have the correct inlet. The NA and Turbo according to the Mazda dealerships all share the same part #, so the box itself shouldn't be different. What do you mean by snork stuff, though? They both also have the same part # so I'm curious if there's anything I'm missing...

for the box and snorkel, I've received the package and everything looks good (thanks for the hardware too).
I've gone ahead and purchased the coupler off ebay and should be here in the next few weeks. After that, I'll work on buying a brand new intake hose and I should have everything I need.
Now, I do have two questions
1) Does anyone know the purpose of these two holes underneath the snorkel?
2) Does anyone know why the bottom of this intake box is round? I'm assuming it's because it's JDM, but it's different than any other one I see (but @j9fd3s had also mentioned the bottom is different, so now I'm curious):

I'm glad the parts arrived okay
1. The two holes are for drainage. If water gets into the snorkel the only way out is those drain holes or the engine.
2. I believe that is an S5 airbox. S5 models have a different MAF sensor, with a round outlet instead of the square one.

Ah, fantastic then. I knew the S4 and S5 had a few differences but I have literally 0 clue what they are. Either way I know this is the shape of my MAF so it should work out just fine.
I did just remove the oem lip off my Supra so I have a bunch of skinny metal plates laying around. I'll see if I can use that to replace the metal tab that attaches the snorkel to the body, but I'm not too worried about it.
I'm just hoping that all I need after purchasing the hose will be to install it. Hopefully I'm able to salvage the tubing and whatnot that's already installed on this custom intake and won't need much else. I'm not very mechanically inclined so this is fun to learn.

Ok, we finally received the pipe we were missing, now all we need is the filter.
Having said that, I've never replaced aftermarket intakes with stock ones and I need help.
How would I reconnect the bpv into the stock piping? Would I be able to reuse some of these tubing?

That would be awesome, thank you. I think in reality the only things I'd struggle with are the bpv and the other nipple that's on the back of the TID. I'm not sure exactly what the system is supposed to look like when connected and which one does what.

The OEM ones are 10mm head bolts with no flange, and a JIS screw head built-in. The Atkins ones look a bit different, so I'm not sure if the part was revised or something later or if that is just a compatible part.
I'm also using the same M6x1.0x30 bolts for the three grommets. Grade 10.9 hardware is optional (8.8 is perfectly fine for this application) but I like the gold zinc coating so that's what I got.
