Are you talking about a street or race car? if you are talking street, I don't know, there arn't many 10 second street drivable RX-7's out there. But enough knowledge, and money anything is possible.

if you get the motor bridge ported, T66 turbo, Huge Fmic, 100 shot, Microtech, weight redux and some slicks....
2000-2500 motor professionally rebuilt (ported)
700-1000 T66 turbo and custom manifold
400-700 FMIC and piping
300-500 Wet 100 shot
600-700 Microtech LT-12
600-1000 16X8 rims with slicks (dunno if it would fit)
250-500 Springs and Adjustable shocks
100-400 680ccx4 or 720ccx4 fuel injectors
100-300 Racing seat & harness (only 1)
100-300 Dyno time and O2 tuning
....Weight Redux Priceless
the max price that I list was 8700 that is for all new parts, I believe it can be done if you install everthing youselfand get the motor profesionaly done.
I know of a 1st gen GSL-SE that has an S4 n/a motor Street partial brigde port, running a T66, water to air intercooler, 6X680cc injetors, and an SDS (simple data systems) Standalone, it wieghs 2650 without the driver, and he runs 11.4s with an open differentialand 1st gen axels, and a srock 1st gen tranny (that blew up after the 11.4 run ).
what happened to your car I though you had a shitload of mods on it?

Hell, if you're gonna keep one somewhat modded for street driving, I would suggest an old cutlass (regal, monte carlo) or malibu for your 10 sec timeslip. You can pick one of those up (late 70's early 80's) for next to nothing. I'd build up a small block and have at it. You'll have a fraction of what you'd have in an RX and it'd be just as fast. I'm playing around with my old caprice to see how fast it'll go for under $1500.00 or so.
I got a TH350 tranny rebuild with all the good stuff and a 2500rpm stall torque converter for $300.00
posi 3.42 rear end for $200
Set of old 882 76cc heads that were rebuilt 14k miles ago. Had 2.02 1.60 valves put in it. Free
chevy motor, needs rings. Has performer RPM manifold, holley 650..etc $500.00
Summit racing rebuild kit 10.5:1 compression $280.00
Paint $200.00
Grand total= ~1500.00
Heavy car, but it should probably run pretty good. Build up that motor with a few more grand and you'll have some power. You can get a blower for a chevy for $1600.00..the sky's the limit. Cuz I got just the above $1500.00 in my microtech and the fittings and hoses for my fuel system. Fast RX7's are $$$$$$$$$$$
I love my 7, but man, nothing sounds cooler than a big power small block...drooooool.

You are either dreaming, or have watched Fast and the Furious way too many times.
There is no way $8500 worth of mods will get you into 10's. Not a single way in hell. People here have a list of mods several pages long.... and are barely into the 12's.
In fact, you'd be lucky to get into the 12's with $8500 worth of mods.

I would say for 10s:
rebuilt brideported motor $4000?
large turbo/manifold/wastegate/DP $2500?
larger pump/injectors/regulator$800?
haltech $1200?
slicks $400?
tuning $500?
fmic/bov $1200?
Well for about $10,000 on mods I would say 10s are pretty much a guarantee. I can get a BP motor around here for $1500 though. I can get slicks for half that with rims. You can use a microtech for half the price of the haltech or get a used one for alot less. You can also fab your own intercooler and use a cheaper core.

I'm not talking lightweightening. I'm speaking strictly bolt-ons.

Fingers, I'm going to have about 7000 total into my car, but that's including painting and fixing up the body. Once my motor is back in, I'm gonna be looking for well into the 12's...

hmm....
Strip the whole car out, everything that you don't need.
$7000 will get your a carbed PP engine. Spend about 2 grand more to turbo it. 450 HP will get you in the high 10s.

I was thinking about using a P-ported s4 block with s4 turbo rotors, e6k, nice big turbo such as a t72 or t76 ( turbonetics ) ...... the reason i dont wanna use a v8 cuz i know it can be done for under 10k realitivly easy... i mean i know 1fastt2 ran a 11.9 with haltech, t4/60-1, and a streetported motor. In all reality i can do all the mods myself.... ask anyone thats been to my house, they know whats up i know what im doing when it comes to wrenching. I dont see 11's being too hard to acheive on 8500, i mean i could prolly do that pretty easy with t4/60-1 like 1fastt2 and add a progressive 100shot direct port.... theres lots of ways i can take and i would like opinions..... right now im leaning towards a p-port cuz there power houses and this is a 1/4 mile car ONLY! i know the rx7 isnt a 1/4 mile shiner but i like taking things that werent to ment to dominate in that catagory and make it the best .....
and fingers... no i havent watched 2f2f after seeing the first one years ago.... i told myself i would never disgrace my eyes or ears agian, with my motec exhaust my 2 20lb bottles of nitrous with my 7 geared eclipse... hehehe

I'll be looking at 12s on street tires with my setup and I have spent 8K including the car. That means I will be running high 11s on slicks (maybe low, low 12s).

Anyway. You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. I bet you $100 I could get a tII to the 12's with a lot less than 8500. Hell, I could do it for under $5k
