*Update* street ported TII swapped 'vert IL Smog Resluts *Pics*
Last week I posted that I was gonna get my car smogged in IL. Heres the previous thread.

MODs please do not move this thread again like the last thread. It has SOME usefull 2nd gen info.
Ok So I went to the emissions test place this morning with my 7 and a friend and her riced out, broke ***, all show and no go honda civic.
I have a full rb 3" turboback exhaust with this catalytic converter flanged in to temporarily replace the presilencer. Autozone cheapo $65 2.5" hiflow cat. I can get the part number if someone wants to know it.
The car ran like *** with this cat installed.. and it smelled funky.
So anyway I get there and they ask me to wait in the building or sit in the passenger seat. I tell them that the car idles funky and its probably best if I do the test for them cause they are gonna stall it out.(at a diff test facility they let me ) They won't let me so I sit in the passenger seat. Some woman gets in the car to move it over the dyno rollers to do the idle test. She then proceeds to let the clutch out and stalls the car... *sigh* So I wait patiently in the passenger seat as she sits in teh driver seat while another operator goes to stick the sniffer up my cars ***. I watch behind the car and rigth before they stick the sniffer in I flick my trusty switch right next to my turbo timer and hear the LS1 airpump's stiffled whine. Yeah I had to reach over and flick this switch right in front of the emmisions test operator.
I thought the operator was gonna say WTF are you doing?! But they didn't say a word. Anyway the LS1 airpump is quite a power draw(blew up to 20 amp fuses) and it causes my idle to drop to 650-700rpm which is great for the smog test!
My car is hooked up to the sniffer for about 20 seconds and they stop the test. They ask me to get in the driver seat and pull forward while they print out my results.
BAM!! Passed with flying colors! A state emmisions facility inspector(the guy monitoring all the operators and making sure no one trys to cheat etc.) hands me my results and says "WOW! Your car did really good! What did you do to fix it?!!" I told him I got a rebuilt engine and a new exhaust. I told him I was a lil worried I may not pass still. He asks why with a perplexed look on his face, and I respond with "well its a rotary engine!" And he tells me how he likes rotarys and their few moving parts. I respond with "yeah they are great engines, when they work." The state inspector was a freakin cool guy.
So I leave and I look around and can't find my friend and her car. I drive a block down the road and pull into a parking lot and try to get a hold of her on her cell. Next thing I know she is pulling into the lot. She failed the test! She was still at the facility when I left, getting info on whats wrong and where to go fix it! Apparently one of her pistons is misfireing or something.

I guess thats pretty rare when it comes to emmisions!
Funny thing is shes always raggin on me how my cars always in a shop getting something fixed. She's always trash talkin about my car calling it a hoopty etc.
Here is my "hoopty"
Her honda has a bodykit and its all banged up. Maybe I'll get a pic of it.

Oh, and I have an FD alt. I dunno how well an FC alt would handle the draw that the LS1 airpump sucks out of it.

Yeah its great! Especially since I had until the end of this month to pass or I lost my license. I was about to have a stand alone installed and some tuning to try to pass. My friend had to go this weekend so I figured I'd go with her and see how bad I do. I didn't think I would actually pass! This was a huge sword hangin over my head thats not disapeared.
I'm still gonna go stand alone of course though! With a new bigger turbo!
