Just a thought, Why don`t you invest $250 in a Megasquirt 1 Version 3.0 PCB kit.
You will learn a lot by building your own standalone. It will give you full control over fuel and spark and the Megasquirt is good up to 20psi boost. There are a few modifications while you are building it but not really a big deal. It IS a technical project but don`t let that stop you from considering it. I have no experiance in electronics at all but because there is step by step build instructions and plenty of support/advice here https://www.rx7club.com/megasquirt-forum-153/
and here http://www.msefi.com/ I`ve been running my stock `86 GXL for a couple of months now controlling fuel and spark with the MS and have learned a lot.
This way you get a good quality stand alone that will give all the control you will ever need as far as engine management and the cost is way low. Hell you can get an Inovate Tech. LC1 wideband as well as the MS for less than $500 total but you don`t have to get the widband right away.
just my $.02

If you don't know how to put the Megasquirt together, Tofuball on the forum sells kits. Know though, that the Megasquirt cannot use the OMP, so you have to premix.
But yeah..port wastegate ($100 for someone else to do)
Walboro 255lph fuel pump on Ebay ($50)
GReddy 720cc injectors ($250 for 2)
Thats $400. Now..at this point, your going to want some kind of fuel control. On a budget..an SAFC2 isn't a horrible idea. They're about $220 + shipping (normally $30+...Ebay :-(). Shoot me a PM, I'll sell you mine for $165, barely used.
Ok, now, this sets you at $565 spent. But, with the ported wastegate, you will most likely be getting less then 5-7psi...if its done properly. And of course, this just won't be fun! Not to mention, lacking a boost controller, the boost could come on pretty late, and probably die off in the upper-rpm's.
And so..you'd want to buy a boost controller. Electronic is the best in my opinion, at least I've found it easier to change my boost setting in car, with a digital number..
On Ebay, an Apexi electronic boost controller goes for about $375+$15 shipping.
That's $955 dollars spent...
I don't think your budget meets the requirements for your car to lack "boom."
Save up a little bit more, or do all of this minus the boost controller. Your car will be tuneable, reliable, and won't blow up due to overboosting, or lack of fuel.

Juiceh- i did not just mkake $800 all summer, i make more like $2500 but i have to pay for college, so most of it will go for that. And anything left will go for the car. Just wondering how much will a 60,000 mile tune up at mazda cost me, that may be a good idea too.

If you are going to college, take thet $800 and spend it at college. Its nice and fun to have a project car in college....but when something breaks you aren't in a position to earn money. And you are in college so you should be worrying about your future. I dont know many schools that are $1700 for a year with books, tuition, room & board, fun.
My RX7 broke and now I can't fix it for 3 months...
My $.02.
