I messaged the guy, he DID say something about a mild port, I believe. He said he had made 171.9hp to the wheels, and believed the new setup would be good for about 175rwhp.

Sports racers are basically just Formula Cars with body work that protects the wheels...

And at least on a Formula car, if someone breaks, it's probably just ONE part like an A-arm, which is relatively cheap versus the time that is required to fully prep a new chassis if you were to total out a monocoque framed car (with stripping, welding, cages, foam, painting, etc). And the bodies themselves are repairable since they're tube-frame construction.

(not on newer top-level formula cars, but on club racer ones)

OTOH, kart parts are a dime a dozen compared to (new) car parts.

It's all about Penske's quadruple adjustable dampers if money is no object.....

thankfully, ITS rules don't allow for more than two adjustments with a ban on remote reservoirs.

If money is no object, you can just buy a whole new custom-valved shock every time you want to make an adjustment

(F1 dampers aren't adjustable)

I don't think Penske makes struts. But you can get yourself some nice JRZ, Moton, Dynamic, Koni or other 2+ way adjustable monotubes.

Koni 2817's and 2812's would be a good combo, 2 way adjustable monotubes, no remote reservoir, would be good for ITS or EP.

Those F1 dampers are probably 2822's, 4 way adjustable, could be adapted for the rear.

If it has any porting, it's illegal. I would venture to say it does not have porting and there was some misunderstanding though. I don't know the guy but it doesn't look like the type of car that would have to cheat. You CAN LEGALLY get 175+ to wheels without porting these though.

Oh, and at $20k it's a great deal. Build one and you'll understand. Unfortunately they bring nothing though on the second hand market.
