You are about the 3rd person I have seen type this hideous statement.

What do you mean? there is no reason to compare in a 240 to a civic... Why because it can be sup'd up? This is like comparing feet and apples... (feet being the civics of course) Anyway I would really like to understand why anyone would think this way. Or are you just repeating it because some other *** hat typed it? If you want to compare a nissan to a civic take the stanza or nx, or perhaps the sentra? You know a car in the same class... Jeez.... some people. a 240 is a sports car, civic is not.

Oh and sorry for derailing this post....

at the "240 is a sports car" comment!!!

The 240 IS the NEW Civic of the street racing Fad. It's cheap, slow, and the aftermarket has a buttload of useless aesthetic parts that the kids seem to love.

You don't know how many riced out 240's I've seen. The good thing about the rotary is that most people don't know how to take care of them and they kill the 7's within months so they tend to stay away.

the 240 is as much a sports car as the 90's Celica.

haha poor 240 drivers; i suppose in the area where i live it would either be a civic or a 240 that's why i kinda lean towards the rx7.

well partly im pretty happy how most of the people i meet don't tell me what to do with my car....i think it because they don't know anything about it. i guess they're smart to just keep their mouth shut hehe...if i have settled with a civic or a 240 i think i wouldve gotten a lot of "do this" "do that" from random people...so to that aspect i like the RX-7 haha...

only thing i hate about my RX-7 now is the gas mileage.....i am looking into the A/F controllers in the forum and seeing how fellow members tune it but that would be in the far future...i have no idea how to do any of that stuff...and i think i could risk blowing my engine...i know that much ahaha....

12mpg FTL!!! *sigh*

Wow... You have some serious hatred towards the 240. The 90's Celica is FWD.... I'll give you that one. And so what if there are a butt load of after market mods for the 240's Have you seen the after market for the RX? And I see just as many riced out 7's on here as you do on a civic board...

Since when are they cheap? One in really good condition goes for as much as a nice TII FC. Sure you can find the occasional 2-3k one but usually it is 5-7 k Not cheap imo for a 10 -12 year old car.

Just because some moron buys 240 takes the bullet proof 2.4l ka motor out and puts his official fast and furious sr20 motor in and slaps a supra or f1 wing on it doesn't make the 240 any less of a sports car than a 7.

Yes there is a unique status about a rotary in the fact the average kid can't keep it running or maintained. Or even phathom the physics and operation of a rotary. However they still try and there are still plenty of after market parts and stupid wings and stickers and headlights and 0h n0s 1 g0t JDM stuff for the RX as there are any other Japanese car. The mitsu's the nissans, the hondas heck even the saturns aren't exempt from it. We still own a Japanese car, we are all "ricers" get over it. Just because most of us are mature enough to under stand that traction devices that make your car look like a grocery cart are dumb and serve no real purpose on the street, doesn't make us any less Japanese car fanatics... I bet you more than half of the people on this forum also own a honda or nissan. My whole point is you can't run from the fact that you are a ricer. Because by the very definition of the word we just are. There is a difference between a ricer and a kid who saw fast and furious 2 many times. Embrace that idea.

240's have to relation to civics. Period.

meh, i read in another thread that there is another full exhaust system that has a 10hp larger gain then the RB true duels. But i cant remember what its called, search the past exhaust threads in the last few days.... but its also lighter too. I think its because its a single. but louder. but hey, 10 extra horses isnt a bad trade off...

CaN't go wrong with saving money! Save it up and fix the little things, sell the car for good down the road, and buy a TII.

Haha.. Very well put sir!! I despise 240s. They are gettin worse then civics. And that "bulletproof" KA must me allergic to Vegas because I see so many 240s with a blown KA.

Anyways.. did you order that exhaust yet man??

Are you going to Sevenstock? Usually Racing Beat has a open house on sundays after sevenstock and a lot of there products have a small discount. Youd probably get it a little cheaper if you went. AND have some fun at Sevenstock, IMO its a must for any rotary fanatic

I plan on gettin my rotor tattoo shortly haha.

The 7 is sexy in stock form so you're good. A mod a month is the way to go IMO.

I don't understand why you would want the true duals for a daily driver (noise). A high-flow cat like the Bonez one from www.rx7.com paired with a good cat-back sounds pretty nice and gives some HP. Some other good daily driver mods: Racing Beat engine torque brace, true cool air intake, strut tower bars

engine torque brace? cai? i agree with the strut tower bars, though, they are nice. but i don't think he'd really see the benefit of the brace or cai and i think he'd enjoy the tone of the new exhaust (as well as the couple hp more he's going to gain for lower restriction) more than those first 2 on your list. i don't think his motor is jumping around enough right now where he's losing a ton of power that way...and if he is, he needs new motor mounts

ahhh im kinda looking for decent sounding exhaust set up but at the same time i dont want to half-*** anything....judging from the few advices from the replies i've had the racing beat true duals are the top-notch? perhaps...it does look really good too.

overall i will never race this car....just make it a good all around car. with a little kick if needed.

I am on the same budget at teh moment. I would really like to get the RB True Duals but I think im just gonna put that money to repair/replace stuff that will make my car more reliable (ie. i need new belts as well as new spark plug wires). I will be purchasing the exhaust at some point tho. This kind of goes off topic a bit but does Mazdatrix provide good service because im planning on picking up some things from them.

well that's the way you should do things. Make sure your car is in great shape so all you have to do is add gas, oil and routine maintenance. You are no longer spending $$ to fix things so you can save it to MODIFY things. If you modify your car before making sure it is in great shape then you'll be in a world or hurt, disappointment and poverty.

Wow, you can afford a mod a month?

Well... I guess if you count the little things and don't group certain mods together... that might be me.

ARG! so recently (last night) i had "the talk". talked to a bunch of people here in the forums and also other advice from friends. and whattaya know they all said just go turbo...

i think it will be smarter to just buy mods for a turbo 2 car that i get in the future...don't you guys think?

i'm not really sure how my car will do on the market but i decided to post it up anyway...if any of you guys are interested please let me know...the car is listed in the classifieds section of the forum...*sigh*

Do what you want to do. I have both the NA and an NA to TII swap ( according to what CPUbugs says I can call it an infiniIV conversion ) and I can honestly tell you I wouldn't get rid of either car. I love the NA for what it is but I'm a true boost addict. If you HAVE a daily Driver and you want a FUN CAR then I say you sell you NA and get your TII. If you're looking for a car to beat around AND drive daily then you're better off staying in the NA. You found a nice car at a reasonable price.

I used to DD my OLD TII and it was super reliable (after I rebuilt the motor that, the previous owner neglected to tell me, had bad coolant seals.) You might find a nice TII but you won't know the previous maintenance schedule (if it even had one) and it will only be a matter of time before you have to spend money to fix any problems the previous owner neglected to mention or didn't know about.

In the end it's your choice but you should also prioritize what you NEED and what you want.

If it's your ONLY car then I suggest you stay NA.

If it's your FUN car then I suggest you go TII.

If you can afford it GO WITH BOTH!

Quick Reply: $1500 or so to spend...where should i start?
