Unhappy Wrecked my CHERRY Harbor Blue 65k original mile S5 vert

As some of you know the year for me sucked *** so far. New Years after hanging out at a friends house in Virginia City Highlands, we left to go home at 1:20. I was completely sober and even going the speed limit as i was coming down a local mountain pass called Geiger Grade. Everything was cool until i was going through a left hand corner about half way down and hit sand in the road. My piece of **** michelin tires cant grip when dry, wet, snowy, sand, or any surface i can think of. So as soon as the passenger side tires hit the sand they broke free and went into a drift. I counter steered and the back began to correct, but then the rear bit and aimed the nose right at the rock wall to my right. I then pulled up on the ebrake to make the car slide back the other way, and the car clipped the side of the mountain. We took out a road marker and slid onto a pile of sand that had fallen down from the face of the cliff keeping us from touching the wall.

When the dust settled, i bent my passenger side lower control arm, broke the swaybar endlink, busted up the wheel, dented the rear of the front fender, and punched in the bottom of the door sill. It can all be fixed, and will prolly cost about 2k after paint and everything, but at least we didnt get hurt. My girlfriend smacked her head on the window, but that was from pulling the e brake to keep us from going head first into the mountain side.

Anyways, heres the carnage pics.

and this is how it sits until my new control arm and wheels get here in the next couple days.

I have another lower control arm on the way, along with a set of the BBS Vert rims and new tires. Plus Im looking at prolly $1500 of body work and paint. Im taking it to a guy here in Reno who does metal work that is out of this world. He does one off cars and NONE of his work ever requires bondo hes that good. Ill have it back up to better than it was before because Im fixing all the little rock chips, dings, and scratches from being an 18 year old car too. Its been a shitty year after a shitty 2007 too

You might also need a Subframe.. Bend a control arm like that.. means you probally bent the subframe too.. I have a perfect subframe if you end up needing it...

Be glad that a relatively cheap control arm (cheap if you get them from a junk yard...) got bent that badly instead of the main body... the fact that it bent that much is probably what saved the rest of the car

I bet you could get that rim's lip straightened out by an allow rim repair guy.

If you have any issues lining the new arm up, that would mean your subframe is probably bent.

The sheer amount of dust and rocks that the government road cleaners leave all over the place is really amazing... some of the crap they do is pretty negligent.

That sucks, glad to hear you're okay...

At the same time, it's your own fault for driving around on shitty tires...hopefully you fix it before someone gets hurt.

Damn, sorry about your 7, hopefully you will be able to restore it to its previous beaty without too much cost. And, as valkyrie said, you could probably save a lot of money by getting the rims repaired.

Harbor Blue is the best FC color. Horrible to see another wrecked FC.

Looks like you got off real lucky.

I wouldn't fix that rim; trash it and get another on the board.

Yea ive got a set of rims coming from goodlettsville tennesee. I know the front mount on the subframe is a little tweaked, but a minute with a hammer is all its gonna take. Luckily nothing else is bent, and the whole underside of the car is unharmed. I had plenty of tread left in the tires, its just they were crappy michelins that were on the car when i got it. the new rims im getting have good toyos on them.

I do agree with you guys that Harbor Blue is the BEST FC color. I love the look of it. Second would be Infini Green. I just really want it fixed before i go to the car show in San Francisco on January 13th. Thanks for all your support guys!

Because we were in the dirt about 6 feet from hitting the mountain head on. So when i pulled the ebrake we slid sideways slowing us down even more and taking a small hit on the side rather than a totaled hit in the front.
