You need to specify was width the wheel is. A 6" wheel and an 8" wheel can run different sized tires.

Anywho, I've got 235/45/17's in the rear on mine. I think I have an 8" wheel.

for a 16 x 8 wheel, you don't have many choices of tires for the 245/45/16 size. That's why I'll be moving up to 17x9's in the future.

I should have said, 225/50/16 is what I run on my stock Turbo II rims which are 16X7 with 40mm offset. If you're using the stock rims on yours you can go up to 245/45/16 in the rear from what I understand. If it's a different rim we need to know the width and offset.

You can fit 275s on the back with the proper width rim. 16x7 would be NOT the proper width.

My 275/40/17 drag radials clear fine on my 17x9.5 +38 TSWs on my stock fender (no rolling) FC. You won't get any more then that without fender work though.

You shouldn't rub at all.
