Venting... someone razor bladed my vert seats
Someone took a razor blade (or knife or box cutter) to my driver's seat in my vert the other night. **** why can't they just puncture a tire or something that can be replaced. WTF?? So I have the stock blue vert seats with the speaker headrests.
what is my best option? Finding a used seat or set of seats is going to be impossible around here. ****, I think I have the only two FCs within 60 miles of Springfield, IL.
I filed a police report, and will go get the usual "bend over and take it" news from my insurance guy on Tuesday. I guess I can get quotes on recovering them. Anyone had any luck with any decent covers that aren't held on with bungie cords? I would like to find replacment covers, not covers that go over the old coverings. Any links to good quality covers appreciated.

That really sucks. Hopefully the D-bag gets a taste of karma.
As for covers, the only ones I could find had horrible fitment. Reupholstering them or replacing them outright seems to be the only way to go. I picked up some low-mile S5 GTU seats to replace my worn out vert seats.

Sorry that happened to you, hopefully insurance will work it out. Possible sources are Ebay. Here's one I pulled up and I didn't search beyond that one. But I remember there being some for sale and they gave you options on color of the leather.

Also Racing Beat sells them, but it's vinyl

Don't worry RotorRex, I had it worse a while back. They ripped my top and poured white paint inside (luckily the dumbasses didn't know there is a inner layer to the top, so all of it got on the carpets...).
I've heard good things about the ebay ones that are made for our verts...
If you have full coverage, insurance will cover it no problem. I learned the hard way and will carry nothing less than full-coverage from now on...

Looking at some from leatherseats.com they have FC vert template/patterns. THere are two diff colors of blue, so not sure which is closest. Going to email them and see if they can send samples of each. They look pretty good and even have a link specific to FC Vert installation...

Anyone have experience with these guys?
I have $100 deductible on comprehensive and my State Farm guy (he actually is a good neighbor) gave me the warm fuzzy. Getting an estimate from an upholstery shop. depending on how it all comes out, I may just go with covers from someone like leatherseats.com.

I hate vandalizers! Last summer someone took a driver to all my windows. A new replacement for the rear hatch woulda been $460, thank god for junk yards lol.

I've carried them for several years on several vehicles (currently have 4 with them), so I would hope that counts for something.
Got a quote from leatherseats.com for perforated leather in OEM blue. $700 shipped. Not bad if they fit as good as the pics show.

I have a set of VW 88 jetta recaros in my 7 (look at my avatar) they can be had pretty cheap off ebay like 200 for 2 seats.. And all it take is to drill some holes in the stock rails.. And your good to go! They come in differant patterns I've seen the black leather and grey cloth like the ones I have and grey cloth.
They are solid cheap and recaro.

I can see if I parked it under a big ol' dead limb on a windy day, and it fell on my hood. Plus, they may have sliced open the top and THEN cut the seats.

Also, don't try and remove the old headrest covers. Just carefully cut them off. You might want to consider buying some new infinity speakers for your headrest as long as you'll have them apart. Much better, and wider range. You'll need to remove the back part of the foam to replace the speakers which you'll need to do anyway. Installation of the headrest into the new headrest cover is first WITHOUT the rear foam panel. Then once fully inserted and centered, THEN you massage in the back foam panel.
The RB seat covers are very well made with excellent fitment, albeit they are made of vinyl.
I'd go with the leatherseats.com ones. They're 100% leather.
