I'm willing to bet most people are going to steer you away from the vert based on the weight alone even tho I was once trying to turbo my vert but needing a new top and a driver side window motor made me give up. Now I'm turbo-ing my 87 +2 sport.

Verts look bad *** when done right.. but you can't go wrong with a coupe. And as far as the 2+2 part, unless you have legless friends, or small pets(ie. Cats, chiwawas) its more of a novelty than a luxery..

Vote for turbo vert as well. Mainly because 2+2 in a 7 is gay and useless. If it were a Mk III supra perhaps it would be a different story, lol.

Turbo Vert

Turbo Vert

And if you want another opinion

Turbo Vert

In my opinion it's one of the biggest disappointments that MAZDA never import the TurboVert to the US. Second would be the 3-rotor Cosmo.

Vert. I've owned three coupes and one vert, the vert wins hands down.

Who gives a **** if it's a bit heavier. Roll like a boss.

I've owned n/a verts and I own a turbo vert. Like everyone else has said so far....you won't care if it is a little heavier. Verts are so nice that if I had an n/a vert or turbo coupe to buy and all things being equal between them...I'd have to think about which to get.

I've never owned a 2+2 coupe, but I mean come on. The only people that could fit back there are circus clowns.

Against what everybody seems to think here, I would buy a TII 2+2. I had few accidents in my life, and I must say that a roof can save your life in a car crash.

I would love a 2+2, because as soon as you got a girlfriend, you get some kids, she may pressure you into selling the car. But... If you got a 2+2 you can fit a kid back there until he's about 13 years old. Voilà!

I bought the vert in 2004. It was my first car. I got married in 2005. I have 2 kids now, still own the vert. It's understood that no matter what happens, I will absolutely not sell that car.

I don't drive stupid, so I won't wreck my car. That's not saying I won't get t-boned in an intersection, but you could get hit by a turd falling from an airplane, so that's an invalid argument anyways.

Personally, I'd buy a TII... But not a 2+2 TII. Of the two, I'd rather have the turbo cabriolet. Where are you at in life? Are you having a mid-life crisis? You have kids? Girlfriend? Married? Single? Win some money at the casino?... Actually, you shouldn't even care about any of that. Just get them both. You only have one life to live.

i don't know that i've ever said i DIDN'T like the vert, but until i got one i didn't know how good it really is...

and also in all the time i've been driving Rx7's the prius came out, so the speed of traffic is way slower now than it used to be, so horsepower isn't useful at all, even the NA vert has too much.
