Today...
...was a good day! Got to test my Christmas present to myself out for the first time! Took this shot and thought I should post it up! We are doing some modification to my 626 lip at the moment; we've molded it into one piece, extended the ends to fit flush w/ my fenders and have to finish up sanding/painting. So excuse the nakedness on the front end of the car. lol.

She shot fantastic! I am VERY happy and now a huge fan of 7.62x54r. The rounds we shot did HUGE damage @ 300+ yards. They say that the PSL is rated @ 1200 yards but I doubt that any military surplus ammo could do that accurately but who knows. lol.
I'm getting some new optics for it soon by the original manufacturer for the Dragunov's by Kalinka Optics or either Belomo. I think that's right??? Anywho... they are decently priced.
I'm loving it so far tho... only thing is most ammo available is semi-corrosive Hungarian, Russian, etc. military bulk in sardine cans. It goes for around $94 for 440 rounds. Tho wolf does make rounds for it and it runs for almost the same as 7.62x39 (AK-47 and SKS rounds).

Beautiful Dragunov and 10AE. I personally think you're nuts to lean your gun up against your car, but to each their own.
This reminds me of the movie Red Dawn so much!
I'm jealous you're even legally allowed to purchase that gun. Here in California I cannot imagine the trouble we would get in for having it.

Nice. My buddy has a Russian sniper rifle that has a range of 1000 yards. Maybe you'll know what it is?
its in this pic.
heres me with my guns. Both use a .223. one is a plr-16 and the other is just an ar15.

www.dragunov.net for some more info. It's a really great site.
Also, my car isn't a 10AE. It's an '87 TurboII. Notice the red TurboII decals, black side moldings, and no 10AE badges? I didn't just slam it up against the side of my car. lol. Merely placed it very gently to get a nice picture w/ it.
Yeah it's a Russian Mosin-Nagant 91/30. 1000 yards... well, it's usually good around 500+ but to push it 1000 you'll need a lot of luck and you'll need to be a damn good shot w/ optics. It shoots the same round, a 7.62x54r (rimmed). They are great rifles, really cheap (I see them go for $100 all day long) and are a lot of fun.

Wrong and wrong... My rifle isn't a Dragunov, it is a Romanian PSL-54C. It is similar to a Dragunov but VERY different. The gas system and pretty much everything in between is that of the AK. It shoots the same round as an SVD, Tiger and the Chinese NDM-86 (Dragunovs). I for one don't have $4,000+ to shed out on an NDM-86 or even a Tiger. The actual SVD's I've seen sell for $8,000. But that was when one came around and I've only seen 2 in person.

The scope wasn't smaking me in the eye. It's a fixed position side mounted rail and it sits exactly where it needs to. It can only rest in one place and locks in that position. The closest metal part of the scope to your eye is about 3" away when aiming. There is a rubber boot in between... it was sliding around and distorting my view.
Oh and you should get one... they were $400 cheaper than what they were going for last year and I snagged this one up for $689. It's super fun and a great rifle. Just do your research on them and make sure to inspect it before you buy one in person.
