Not really something funny said, but a buddy he had been trying to get me to trade my convertible for his miata straight across, ok miata was worth a bit more, was in better working order, really a nicer car. My 7 had minor work done, but the transmission going out windows stopped working little bugs here and there were starting to pop up more and more... you know the normal fun 7 stuff.

We went in to the tattoo shop I go to because he was wanting to have a rotor with a 7 in the middle he scratched out the tattoo, and got it that day. Now he used the same guy I go to for my tattoos, and the next day I was talking to my tattooist and he had been wanting to get a miata for his wife. My vert was worth $2500 the miata was worth $3000 and he said he would give me $4000 worth of tattooing. So I went to my buddy and said ok fine i'll do the stupid trade... he thought it was because he just got the tattoo and how stupid would it be for him to have a 7 tattoo with no 7 lol...

Now I knew my buddy was not the best with cars, and that it might have 2 more year to live till he poped the motor. I would get it back and do a TII swap and get my car back... the funny thing is he really thought I was getting the bad end of the deal, little did I know how bad he was going to be. He had the car for 3 months thought it was a 4way stop at 3AM and got t-boned killing the car I had much fun and memory's in. He destroyed my S5 with a set 10ae taillights and those awesome R32 wheels, I at the most thought I would have been able to see her a few more times

When ever I see him I point out his tattoo, and how he killed my car. >: (

I think he traded it for a miata, but with that many grammar issues, you can't really know for sure.

Plus add in the factor that rotaries rarely catastrophically fail would give some added redundancy to a single engine layout.

Yesterday I drove my vert to work instead of my daily driver (which is a coupe)

Co-worker "Hey man did you get new rims?"
Me "No, that's my vert"
Co-worker "Oh right"
Me

Frequent client "I didn't know your Rx7 was a convertible"
Me "Actually that is the car my girlfriend drives, I just drove it in today instead of my normal Rx7"
Frequent client "Oh I see, so that's not an Rx7"
Me "No it is, it's just the convertible version"
Frequent client "Huh, so guess what I finally figured out how to get sideways in my Mercedes 300e. You just gotta slap it into low gear and floor it after coming out of a turn"
Me "Be careful you don't blow up that crappy Mercedes automatic transmission"
Frequent client *puzzled look on his face like Mercedes makes the best transmissions in the world*
Me *walks away*

Lmao. I know a guy with a 4g63 swapped crossfire because the transmission in his car couldn't take the torque from the supercharger that came STOCK on the car. I am not sure if he even changed the wheel but it had a few misc bolt-ons and yeah it was quick, but it was not running more than 10% above stock.

Had some old redneck come up to me today at the gas station. He says "You know you've got an exhasut leak, and some lifters ""uh tickin"" ?"

I was like, sir this car does not have valves, it definitely does not have a lifter ticking, As for the exhaust leak, well I am not sure if its actually leaking, or its just the really cheap exhaust the previous owner put on here combined with the fact its a rotary engine"

He just kind walked away with a WTF is a rotary look on his face.

I remember 7 or 8 years ago, my buddy from school bought an S4 FC as his daily driver cuz he was tired of driving his 12 second hatch back civic every day. I knew little about Rx7s so I retardedly asked him "It must get good gas mileage huh"? He replied back "I thought it would because it says it is only 1.3 litre... but this thing gets like 10mpg, and it's slow as heck!"

I think about that and chuckle.

god forbid im ever late for work one day. that pedal never lifts off the floor. i lose more money in gas that way. normally i shift at 2.5k double clutch and neutral coasts to a stop.

Neutral coasting is the name of the game! None of this downshift to slow down nonsense. Brakes are cheap, clutch discs and gas is not lol.

Lol, I neutral cost down ever decent hill. And keep my revs under 3k. Usually do one or two high rev pulls a day. Just because I understand that is healthy for the engine and it sounds cool.

Neutral coasting down a hill uses more fuel than engine braking.

Yes I'd like to know as well. Car uses more fuel at 750 rpm being pulled by gravity than at 2.5k-3k rpm?

he has to be joking. if the car is just idling at a stop than being rev'd at a stop. would it use more fuel? wouldnt be the same if the car was going down hill or even coasting to a halt?

but then again who am i to challenge the almighty Aaron cake: Demi god of the rx7

^When decelerating above the fuel cut limit (around 1300 RPM) in gear with no throttle input the fuel injectors are off. This can be proven with the Power FC commander, it shows a 0% injector duty cycle.

So yea, you are using more fuel when neutral coasitng.

Not calling u a lair, but my gas tank is telling im getting further neutral coasting than down shifting. Since the fuel cut is above 1300 in gear i would coming to a complete stop sooner and would have a accelerate sooner. Right? so coasting further at 750rpm idle may use ever so slightly more gas. But im going travel a greater distance and will be saving gas is the long run. I mean that's what u think. Anyone else have anything to add? Teehee.

I live in a rural part of NC and its all loud/lifted trucks around here, yet i get no disrespect towards me or my car. Mostly on how good it looks, sounds, and the usual how fast is it comments.

I have a classmate that is heavily into drag racing, runs his own dragster and drag cars. Very interested in my engine setup ive been talking about because he loves how his smaller V8 (less than 300CID) is killing regular small blocks and big block V8's. Same kinda deal rubs off on my little rotary. Well we leave in the group to go eat one day, and i decide since we are eating outside to check my oil after i was done. All the country boys stood around the engine bay and all of them looked puzzled, i tell them to find the spark plugs. Once they figured that out they kinda understood how it worked since i have a few 13b parts sitting in the office at school. Then one jumped into the car and was getting the feel of things w/o driving it and said he wanted one lol.

In modern cars, I know he's correct. In regards to him stating his evidence from the powerFC, we can come to a fair conclusion that he's correct.

I don't understand your gibberish afterwards. If you were going down a hill or coming to a stop, the hill nor the stop sign changes it's positioning on how you drive. You would travel the same distance regardless of whether you engine brake or neutral coast. One could also begin their neutral coast or engine braking at the same point, if that was what you were trying to get at.

I hate to be a douche, but I can't really see any logic in what you have said.

lol hey man.
no douchery felt on your part.
i guess i didnt explain my self well enough.
let me see.. hmmm...

ok try this. if you were to drive you car on a flat gradient up to say, 40mph. in whatever gear you have it in. then let off the gas. the car will decelerate at a faster rate than if you were to have it in neutral and let it coast correct? even if it was the same distance to car will still decelerate faster. so having the car in neutral would have less resistance and the car would travel farther. if you were to have it in gear wouldn't you need give it a lil gas to ensure that you made it to you stop marker and not before it? since when in gear the car would have more resistance and come to a stop sooner?
