hahaha i got one. about 3 months after i got my FC runnign i was at a stop light by the king soopers by my house. Then a dude in a evoVII rolled up to me an was like nice supra what u goin in there a 2jz hahaha. so i gave him a little rev an he said"ILL walk all over that thing" lol i was na at the time but yea it was funny

A mechanic - who knows what rx-7's are, to a point - told me that moisture under the oil cap could be coolant leaking in there (it wasn't thank god) and that the leak might be in the head gasket. I let it slide cause I was bothering him on his weekend :P

I like it when people get surprised at me sticking 2-stroke in the gas...
I get funny looks and double takes when I tell people.

I try and use same gas station i've bought 2-stroke at before when I need more cause I'll usually get the whole "that's not motor oil" line. I have to explain to them that I'm going to put it in the gas tank and they look out at pump 8 and there's a blue beater out there and not a lawnmower or dirtbike. Then I have to explain the whole thing and why and blah blah blah while tweakers are waiting to hold up the line even more to buy scratcher tickets. I haven't had anyone ask what i'm doing when i'm putting it in though.

Anyone else choke the gas pump after they put the 2-stroke in? I usually have to manipulate it for the first gallon or so to get it going and then it's OK after that. It does not happen at every gas station, but it happens pretty regularly.

ok i dont have a 2nd gen, but it still involves a rotary. back when my 84 wouldnt start, i tried explaining the things i checked to a buddy of mine who works at a ford dealership in the mechanic shop. heres the convo.
me"i dont know mark, ive checked everything from my fuel lines and pump, to the spark plugs a wires."
mark" well youve got and rx7 right?"
me"yea"
mark" well theres your problem, how can you check your spark plugs when the rx7s didnt have spark plugs?"
me" your kidding right? no spark plugs"
mark"yea, the dont have them in the rx7s"
me" are you sure you should be near the engine of a car? how else do i get spark in the combustion chamber?"
mark" dude there is no combustion chambers in a rotary"
me" ok, i think im gonna start taking my truck to someone else for my oil changes, i dont trust your work anymore."

my DAD asked me the other day if i was going to replace the valves in my 20B. I was like "DAD?!?!?" He thought about it for a second and said "oh yeah, I was just testing you"

I got the camshaft, valves, pistons thing pretty often from other people as well as "it's loud"

The other day i had some kid ask me where my headlights were... Im like OH BOY...

Last year when i was driving home from work i had this saturn coupe pull up next to me Revving the crap out of his car and he rolls down his window and smiles and takes off... well i wait a second or two and take off like a bat out of hell... Needless to say i caught up and blew past him like it was standing still... few miles later i pull over at wal-mart and hes like wow your car is really fast... I didnt think that 4 cly had ***** like that... I just looked and said its rotary dumb ***...

I also love it when these little civics want to race me at stop lights... It gets kinda old telling these guys there not worth my gas!!!


I hate ignorance if you don't know what an Rx7 is or a Rotary just shut the hell up and walk away...

me and a coworker were buying some coffee from this shell. he's got an s2k and always we always talk smack about eachother's cars just to joke around. there was a sign that said "change your oil w/ blah blah" and had 2 valves one w/ the use, one w/out.


he started saying, (pointing the f'ed up one)

him: "i bet that's what your valves look like..."
me: "oh i don't have valves..."
him: "BS! then how does ur car run?"
me: "it's a rotary...no valves, no cams, none of the other stuff..."
him: "oh...wait...what??"



good thing i got one of those nifty spinning rotary keychains. now i can actually show what my engine looks like and how it works. they're only ignorant if they're not willing to keep an open mind and not learn about alternatives. i don't have hate on em for not knowing, i try teaching them. cuz at one point, i didn't know what a rotary was either.

omg i got another one hahahahaha... the other day i went to pep boys with friend to get some crap. i guess this one kid an one of his friends works there an has a old school turbo probe an thinks hes the shizzz he was talkin crap to my friend who has a pretty quick little civic its still a honda but yea haha. My friend was like u wanna race someone race him (me) lol an he was like what do u have i told him a rx7 oh fd or fc i said fc. what u runnin so i told him its a streetport with a piggy back. he was like oh cool u better upgrade them apex seal they always break tryin to be a smart ***.. me like a **** was like i did i upgraded to a two peice seal...then his friend was like oh what u have like over heard the who conversation i just had an asked the same things over again hahaha im like open ur ears dip ****. then like a idiot he was like cant upgrade to like a 4mm seal hhahahah

i was at wallmart lastnight and when i was heading out of the lot i had my windows down and heard this guy as he was walking by say oh sh&t its a supra i want one of those...then i got past him and he looked at the back of the car and oh sh&it i was wrong its an rx7 i want one of those too..i just kinda laughed to my self and keep driving.atleast he can admit he was worng

My first car was an 86 FC. Before that I used to drive around in my mom's Plymouth Laser and like a dumb kid raced anything and everything including the older dude's v6 accord down the street. Got my assed kicked. Soon as I got my FC I pulled up to him and his friends I said lets see whats up now. He said, "Please, that doesnt even have pistons. I got a V6!" I literally laughed out loud peeled out (like a cocky kid hehe) and chirped on second and third. He saw me a couple days later and asked if I'd let him drive it. lol .. Must be the best memory I have of that FC. But I've since graduated to a 94 FD and never get tired of hearing... "What kind of car is that?"

I also got pulled over once and the cop told me my car was too loud and if he wanted to he could ticket me for that but hes gonna let me slide. I just kinda rolled my eyes on the inside and I told him the car was bone stock and they all sounded that way. But I still dont think he believed me. lol

I'm at a crusie meeting where there's almost only american v8 musclecars and i have just pulled up at the gas station and parked my car when this middle age man comes up to the car and say's:

Him: Hey, this is a porsche, right? (then he goes behind the car for a look)
My friend say's to me: Haha, that must have hurt in your heart
Me to the man: No, it's a Mazda Rx7!
Him: A Mazda!?
Me: Yes, a Mazda!
Him: How big is the engine, 5-6 liters?
Me: Haha, no, it's a 1.3 liters
Him: 1.3!!?
Me: Yes, it's a wankel engine.
Him: Wankel, OK!

It suprised me that he knew what a wankel/rotary engine was but he didn't know much about them.
I told him how much horsepower it had and so on and I could see how impressed he was by it

I had just finish puttin my front end to my FC together last weekend. I go to work on Tuesday and one of the supervisors that i use to work with came in and I told him about. He was like"Cool RX7 what year and how many cylinders are those again"? I had to get him and said "Mike stay the FUCC away from cars!!! And you say you know cars!!! your so simple!!! just damn right REMEDIAL"!!! This is in the office with a room full of people and one of our managers, Everybody just stops Mike turns beat red and says "OHHHH RX7 with the rotary I thought you had bought a Honda"!!! I was like "oh ok".... "you still need your old seat on that damn short yellow bus". As I walk out everybody in the room laughed at him.
To clown a boss and make them fell stupid in your world in there world is just oh so perfect,

A friend of mine just bought an N/A FC and i was helping him figure out what to do with it, Before long i told him that I wanted to turbo mine and i showed him a picture of the hood scoop. He then said that toe cowl hood was a good idea and wanted to know why it was backwords.


-He has since torn off the spoiler with a claw hammer which resutledin him smaching the center break light, denting the trunk lid and cracking the rear windshield. He cut out the carpet with a dull knife, and cut his shifter with a hack saw and made a **** out of tape.

He claims he did this to make it a race car.
