OH still no heat!

i have an 88, all stock. just replaced the heater controls because of not having heat, and some of the controls not working. now all the controls work, but i still have no heat. my thoughts were if the heater core were blocked there would still be a small amount of warm air blowing in because of the fluid in the heater core absorbing some of the heat from the rest of the water in the lines. and the thermostats not broke because the car doesnt over heat, and even if it was stuck open there would still be radiant heat getting to the heater core. this being said i firmly believe that the door that swings open to allow air from the heater core area to enter the cabin is stuck shut. i let the car run for 30 minutes the other day and when i turned on the heat it was as cold as the air outside. (it was really cold that day) any thoughts or opinions? all help is greatly appreciated. tired of freezing my *** off when i drive this car.

ok, so neither heater hose is hot. checked the coolant level and the radiator is full, but the upper radiator hose feels empty, so i opened the cap on the water neck and it is empty. so its a little low on coolant, but im not sure why. there is a little white smoke on start up especially when its cold outside. i have refilled the coolant in this thing once before. (only had it about 6mo or so) didnt think the coolant loss was that bad? if its not really smokin wheres it goin?

I would suggest bleeding the coolant system they make a funnel that attaches to a rad cap so you can bleed systems better run untill fully warm then you can close cap. Check for heat at both hoses to the fire wall if one is cold the heater core is clogged. If both are hot it could be the flapper door but you should get heat on some position ( top vents/ bottom / defrost ) if coolant keeps going low. Check for a leak somewhere ( water pump weep / clamps or something ) Try these first and see

There is no way the heater core supply hose can be cold after the engine is running for 30minutes. After 5 minutes it will be hot.

Switch the key to on, and slide the heater to hot. Do you hear the motor turning? You can look underneath the dash and even see it moving. That is if it's even working...

Yea I'd be blaming the air temp mixer motor for this one.
