stickmeup show car
Hey folks
im neil from the uk, and this is my fc which I imported from japan. Its the show/demo car for my vinyl/decal business over here in the uk. Currently deciding what to do to it next, but here is a bit of history of it
Well here's a bit of a story about our rx7 which is currently our main show car for this year
The car was purchased in November 2007 from an online auction based in japan, the choice was between this or a baby blue fd (the later version) both stunning visually, a stupidly low bid was placed, and we won it which we were well chuffed about! The car was initially purchased along with the silver impreza that we currently own as part of our new import business, but after falling in love with the rx7 when it arrived, it was decided to keep it as our show car, being the only 1 like it within the uk!
Here are some auction pictures
The car arrived early january, and the love of the car took over, the car had incurred some damage on the way over, the front bumper was smashed off when taking it off the boat, these pictures are taken the night it was picked up, and the next day after a good clean
After a failed mot with needing some work done, the wheel was sent away, bodywork fixed and rear seats removed as it came into the country without any rear seat belts, an overheating issue was fixed along with the addition of a rear fog
The car was taken to my local contact for bodywork issues and was quickly sorted out along with a couple of other issues including a buckled front passenger side wheel that was sent away and fixed perfectly.
The decision was made to keep the car and use it for advertising, having a car that was so in your face was hard to let go and not use.
Then came the issue with the graphics. They had to be in your face to match the car, but not too over the top. A few ideas were thought of (I tend to put them straight on the car instead of playing with photoshop etc, it gives me a better feel for them)
The initial thought was to be different, so we went away from the usual designs of lightening etc seen and went for an old fashioned skull and cross bones style

It was good, but lacked impact which was what we wanted. We also considered copying the bn sports style drift car as this would have been easy to do
Then after a few hours of thinkign and searching our files, we got some inspiration, and we went for it, a mock up was created to see the flow of the design and was put on the car as a tester
these were then fitted, and we were sorted with the design, now colours. We considered all sorts, black, white yellow and more, but decided we should go with what we offer, something different, not 'the norm' so we went for our specials. A mixture of chrome, glitter, rainbow, black and gold chrome were used, and what a result we came out with!
To keep the design as was on the car we decided to remove the green start by star and replace with either of the 3 main colour, chrome, rainbow and glitter
the stars were applied to each side, and we even came up with a new logo to suit the design specifically
Other graphics were added, including a new sunstrip which was created as a one off to coincide with the 'hashiriya terrorists' stand which were to be located on during RSCS, the first outing for the car.
So the car was now finished visually
All work was finished on the car, it went for its mot and passed with flying colours, only 1 week before RSCS, the car was then registered ont he thursday, one day before RSCS and we were legal, the show was to be its first trip out!
we also got time to add a custom install into the boot hand made!

Over the few shows it has been to, the response has been awesome, people walking up to it and seeing their expressions and the love they have for it has been amazing, it confirms the love i have for the car.
We have a few more plans for it yet, simple ones like a sleepy eye conversion have already been carried out, which just add to the overall look of the car!
Thats it in a nutshell, it gives you an idea of the process for vinyls and an insight which you dont always get, so enjoy

So, there u go, this was from back in 2008, not much has changed with the car since then, just trying to decide what direction to take with it now
Parts are a nightmare to try and get hold of in the uk, so if any companies in the US fancy a uk dealer, give me a shout

cool story. Theres a few guys who dislike the bodykits, but this car was created to make a statement and promote a business, you cant achieve that with a stock car.
With that front end, you really dont need to do sleepy eyes. Can you lower it some more? it would make a more visual statement and overall look better.

The car looks great man! The star stickers set it off... I wanted to do something along those lines but with the ever so popular Cherry blossoms... can you guys make a vinyl like that??? just for the rear quarter panels....

Car has been lowered a bit since these pics were taken, but it is currently as low as it can go on the teins its currently sitting on, only way to make the car physically sit/look lower is to move from 18's down to 17's.
Cheers furb, only been down to the pod once which was for japshow back in 2008, however I am hoping to get to more of the shows this year if I can
I love the sleepy eye look
I'll adda couple of more later pics when i get home from work

Lol, yeah just the once, I was in the show and shine section but didnt win anything
Trying to decide what to do at the moment, quite tempted to strip it out and drift it, but then again I quite fancy keeping it as a show car and get a few more biys changed. Just a bit awkward bearing in mind there's nowt available over here for the fc unless u want to go for major engine work at one of the specialists, just simple off the shelf bits dont really exist

I was just about to post your car in the "jdm tune influence" thread.
Seen this on driftworks a while ago.....
Dont change the sleepy eyes. It looks good with type II. Doesn't matter if you "dont have to with type II", it doesn't look like a ******* camaro and that's why i like it.
More low. Other than that, perfect.
Oh, and thanks for showing me i didn't buy kouki s14 signal lamps for no reason. I found mine at a junkyard a while back with the soul intent to buy bn and use them with it. Looks fantastic as i anticipated it would!

The front indicators in the large holes in the bumper are actually from a subaru impreza sti, you can see in the last couple of pics that I have swapped them to clear indicators instead
The sidelights which are in the small holes are side repeaters/indicators from the wing of a fiat bravo and they are smoked, lol
Thanks for your comments mate
