So I sold one of my 7's.
To a guy who begged me to sell it to him. I wasn't trying to sell it really. But he kept asking and told me how much he loved rx7s. I gave in and told him $1300. Figured I paid $1500 for it, so I got it and drove it for 2 years for only $200.
This was a month ago. Now this ****** has it for sale for $2500 on CL. What a dick. I didn't sell it to him for that. I figured I'd help his broke *** out get something he really wanted. Guess not. He really only wanted to profit.
Guess you can't help people out in the world. Guess when you think you're helping somebody out, they're thinking how they're getting over on you.

That is a shame, but unless you really know a person you're selling a car to, there's no way to predict what they're planning for the car. Even then, once the car is off your hands, it's always out of your control. Still sorry to hear you thought you were helping out a fellow enthusiast and he was just looking to turn a quick profit on a flip.

Yeah that sucks you can't help some people even if you do know them. I had bought a 1g eclipse that need work just to play around with & my brother in law asked me if he could buy it because he wanted something to build. I finally gave in, not only did I sell him the car I built the motor, did all the mods & had a freind tune it at their shop. 3 weeks later he had the car for sale. I was pissed at first, because I let him get the car cheap & invested my time in getting it right, but at the end of the day it was his car.

I didnt care to sell my 91 n/a but some guy in queens offered 3100 when i only paid 1200. Pft i thought ok and sold it right away.Kid didnt have a license or know much of anything. Sure its going to get destroyed, do i care? No....not my car anymore. Plenty of 7's around anyways., and as they get destroyed the value will go up.
P.s If the guy sells it for $2500 then he's smart or the buyer is dumb. The fact is he will profit and not look back.

Not like you would trade me and i didnt have cash to throw on top to trade you.

They aren't valued much because they aren't valuable. They may be sought after by people like us, but other than that nobody gives a ****. No matter how rare they become, they won't ever be worth anything.

i don't understand how a complete car will sell for 500
1990 vert 500$
but trying to piece one back together will cost way more then that. its almost cheaper to buy a complete car get what you need and part it out or sell it whole.

It is kind of amazing, I agree. But with a car this old, unless it is prized by a collector, buying a whole non-running car almost always will be much cheaper than trying to piece one together. Having a parts car makes a ton of sense except for the many people (like me) who just don't have a place to store one. I'm sure this is why parts cars are so cheap.

Time is money. Parting a car takes time. Space costs money. Parting a car takes space. Some peoples time isn't that valuable and have space for cheap. Those people can part a car and make some money.
the guy selling the complete s5 vert for $500 doesn't have the space or the time to part it compared to how much he would make from parting it.
