I had one on my old car about 6 years ago. And I got sick of having to take it off and threw it out. Looking back, I wish I had kept it.

This thread is win...

Is the high armrest rare?? News to me if it is...

Idk if you guys were being serious or not, but the lighted rod on the front left was for a reference of that corner of the car when parking, as obviously it was rhd. Honda guys go crazy for that ****.

And... I am planning on talking to a local vinyl company on duplicating the savanna stripes(especially the mirrored one on the front bumper). Even though they'd be on a usdm car and be pointless, they'd make me happy

I dont know if the high arm rest is rare or not, but after I changed my seats I found myself wanting that higher armrest more and more, then when I got it it made me very happy

The only FC I've seen with the high armrest is mine, all the others are the short ones. So it'd be cool if it was rare...

The high armrest is not rare to my understanding. My dad bought his FC from the dealership in September of 1986 with that option on purpose, but the FC we picked up two years ago also just happened to have it.

I'd go nuts for a higher armrest. I might have an upholstery shop custom make one for me using my stock armrest.

Both of my cars have had the higher armrest, so I guess I take it for granted. It does allow a very comfortable arm position when resting your hand on the shifter.

I have had 4 convertibles, and 3 coupes- none of them came with that damm armrest, lol
my flatter convertible lid opened from the front and so does the high one

I think I actually have a spare black one someplace, I put a WTB ad up and ended up with a gray and a black one.

Yeah high armrests open front to back but I didn't realize short armrests open side to side.

I think the s5 ones open from the side, as they have the seatbelt thing under the front of them...

The rule for the armrest is this:
Auto seat belts = side hinge armrest
Manual seat belts = rear hinge armrest

I'm currently looking for a tall, black, rear hinge model for the 10AE. It only came in verist in the US.

i guess i took the high arm rest for granted too. both my GXL's have it, and my buddies GXL has it too. rotaryrocket is right, it is very comfortable with the stock shifter. i couldn't imagine it with out the arm rest.

I'm kinda surprised that people prefer the higher armrest. Both of my FCs have had the shorter one and it seems perfectly positioned. Of course if I ever see a high armrest for sale in S4 gray, I'd be sure to buy it for testing purposes...
