Question Question Regarding RE Amemiya steering wheels

Hello all... Just recently purchased an RE Amemiya D shaped steering wheel for my 2nd Gen and dont understand why both the steering wheel and the horn button say "Made in Italy" on the back... Could anyone please educate me on how this is so ??? I was under the impression that this was a Japanese wheel bearing the name of a Japanese racer so what does Italy have to do with RE Amemiya ???

Thanks in advance for your knowledge...

Probably the same reason German wheels are on a Japanese car. But in all seriousness, I have no idea.

My guess is Nardi manufactures REA wheels. In which case that is a good thing.

If you think about it itailin cars are the pennicle of automobiles so aftermarket parts from this area define something about this part. Having a v8 7 and working in the tire business the place of manufacture says a lot about the product. I know michelin is itialin and has the best rep in general. Im sure when mazda built these cars having something from the itilian race world was a must have for marketing purposes. Best way to put this in perspective is when the tagged the pontiac gto with 6.6 litre a lot of the market compared it to the itialin gto. We all no no one cant mess with a lambo or ferri(sp)

The biggest benefit of german wheels is the wheel bolts. Thats the only benefit they have over any on type wheel. It gives a more secure fit. Would you rather stud and nut something dowm or bolt? Why people swap? Once again, they are familier it being the best but have no idea why lol but do it anyways

Out of curiosity, what does this have to do with steering wheels?
