Pull-a-Part is the best place ever!!
i had been looking for s5 door moldings for a while now and i was not willing to pay 350 for new and was kinda skeptical about ebay ones. but Pull-A-Part got in a 91 and i got out there just in time to get the door moldings...... Yaye for two moldings for 7.38$. every other useable part had already been stripped.
OH! and i also got a new shift *** from there... it came off a 79 celica. haha
it doesn't look half bad either and more importantly, it made my shifter 1.5 inches shorter and it feels much better than before.
these are just two reasons why they are the best junkyard ever!!
anyone else here have a Pull-A-Part they go to on a regular basis?
any good finds?
my friend once found 5 PS2 games in a trunk and they charged him 20 cents each for them and 4 of them worked.

My yard of choice is called Parts Galore, pretty much the same concept. I once got a later 3 spoke steering wheel from a vert FC, a front sway bar end link, a Mazda emblem, and perfect condition center console vents for $9.xx. That place was my heaven for a while, they had like 5 FCs and 2 FBs all at the same time. Sort of sad in a way, but great for plentiful cheap parts .

we dont have one, all we have is a typical Jew-yard. They have a minimum yard charge of $15. They wanted $225 for one S5 taillight, $75 for one side mirror. Wouldnt sell the spoiler because its "part of the hatch", and wouldnt sell the door moldings because they are part of the door.
When I asked where the hell he got his prices he smugly told me that if I wanted a taillight from mazda I would be paying $500 a piece. And then I told him about this new thing called ebay.

This one time I went to the crazy redneck junkyard around here (this place is seriously like a portal to the deep south) looking for a TPS. Upon seeing the car (an S4 base with rust and bondo), I thought it would make a nice parts car/part-out-for-money car, so I inquired in the office about buying the whole thing. I offered them $200 since it clearly didn't run and the body was totally shot, and it clearly hadn't been touched (and therefore wasn't making them any money anyway), unlike the thousands of stripped-out Camaros and pedo-vans that littered the yard. The guy (with all 8 of his teeth) told me that it ran fine, and he had in fact driven it through 8" of mud and carefully parked it sideways in the ditch it currently sat in. After that, the tow truck driver that was sitting in there said, "Naw, I remember draggin that thang in thar, it din run at all." So I then asked if I could just take off the TPS and he said he didn't want to 'split it up' because it was a perfectly-running car that must just be out of gas or something . So I said I'd think about possibly coming back with a larger cash offer in a few days (I had no intentions of returning, ever) and left.
In retaliation, next time I was there with a friend, getting a hood latch for his Escort, I stole a bunch of the big 30A and 40A fuses that I now keep in my glove box. TAKE THAT, DELIVERANCE JUNKYARD!! That place is seriously scary, not paved or anything, just a giant plot of woods with the trees cleared out with cars (and a random boat or two) dumped everywhere. I saw definitely evidence of bums living inside the cars.
And there's my mostly unrelated junkyard story.

We have U Pull and Pay out here, and they usually have ~2 FCs and 5 or so first gens at any given time. My favorite finds are both small, a driver side mirror triangle for a buck and the little light that goes on the passenger side hatch strut, also a buck. I also got a new LIM when mine broke, I was lucky then as it was the only time I have ever seen a TII in there. I think that one cost me $10 though.

^lol at Need Rx7.
There was this Pick Ur Part by my work that recently shut down.. it sucks cuz that as my favorite place to go, they sold everything for cheap. The thing I loved most about this place is that when it would rain the entire place would swamp up... so to get around you had to climb on top of a car and jump from car to car lol.

I'm not sure what they have right now, but I need to get over there in the next couple weeks to see what I can find. Is the one in Stafford still open. I think Banks still own them, not sure tho.

We have a junkyard here in Atlanta that specializes in Mazdas, so getting used parts is pretty easy. They aren't the cheapest, but they have had what I've needed every time. We also have a Pull A Part, but I've only seen maybe 4 FCs the past 5-6 years I've been going. They are usually stripped out shells.

You're talking about Mazmart, right? If you're in Atlanta, you should check out the OGTA meets if you don't already know about them.

That either makes you a criminal and/or a democrat. Take your pick...
Although i guess if you were a democrat you would from or join a union and steal from your employer too...

It was 4 fuses from an Escort that was barely more than a shell, and one of them was blown...
At least I'm not one of those ******** who walks up and down the aisles throwing brake rotors through windows and stomping in fenders/doors/quarter panels/hoods.
