project panda 7
so i decided to get a second car to use for a temp daily while the subaru gets all built up.
i had some inspiration from a car i love and a scheme i love as well. the insperation came from the panda AE86 style and i wanted to throw it on a different car.
here is my inspiration...
sooooo......
i decided to save this poor rx7 from rusting to nothing.
got it with a decent dent and a ruined front bumper. needs paint and a motor so far as i know. so first things first i ordered a new motor. will be here next week. also picked up a good deal on s4.5 front bumper along with a new fender and front lip.
here is a list of current mods going on the car.
watanabe RS8's
feed front lip
s5 front bumper
new motor.
side skirts
coilovers
and a refresh on interior with some new seets in future along with paint.
car will be getting some love!!!
here are some pics of the car after a saturday of body alignment and work.
(sorry for phone pics... cant find the camera charger after i moved.BTW if someone has an extra charger for a nikon let me know
here is how she looked (wet) when i got it home and cleaned a bit. large dent in the front bumper and fender along with terrible bumper carnage on the passenger side and under side. the paint is actually terribly oxidized and does not look that good... sadly...
and the wheels which will be disasembled sand blasted and repainted.

eh its ok im used to ********.
the reason for the bumper is this. first i like the trim on the s4 and i actually like the s4 rear bumper. along those lines the s5 lower end is a lot better on the front bumper. so i am keeping some of both worlds. and im sorry but they dont make a feed front lip for the s4 front bumper. and if you saw the condition of the s4 front bumper i already had you would understand. but thanks for the input. i could say a lot to everyone on here that has "aero" kits. i think that in general most are rice and dont hold true with the body lines of these cars. i could also point out that i hate half the wheels on the cars on here. no one seems to care about proper fitment or carrying the style of the car. especially with the mustang wheels... that makes me want to punch babies in fact...
BUT to each his own. i appreciate all criticism.
and as far as the car goes its supposed to be a track/fun car and a part time daily. im not going to win shows in this car but rather track days

This sounds like an interesting project indeed, I'll keep an eye on it.
I have an S4 and that just makes it easier to see how much better S5 Trim is, especially the front bumper. The S4 bumper looks real mid-eighties plus there's no room for fog lights. If you color match it, the S4 trim looks ok, but nowhere near as smooth as the S5. As far as the rear bumper goes......I'll have to go look at that...

Thanks. I will be finishing sanding and most the paint and will take some quality pics with the D80 this weekend. I think the two tone will fit the body and year of these cars.
