^ what he said... I'm also a body man... And with enough time and money you can fix anything... While I understand and appreciate you are trying to save a piece of rx-7 history, that's just ridiculously more trouble than I think it could be worth. But, as they say, opinions are like buttholes...

yes. "anything" is repairable. but I believe he said this is his first experience with bodywork! The quarters on these cars are brazed to the roof and rear panel.. plus all the sectioning you would have to do with all the inner a pillar and roof structure is not something a newcomer would want to attempt
I'm baggin' what you're ringing up. But I have a guy that went to school for automotive body repair coming to look into it. Hence why I'm tearing the inside apart. He's also a friend so he'll lay it down for me straight, if its not as easy as cutting welding and some minor patch work an claims it will be a lot more than just finding a roller ill do that. And I guess I didn't clarify, I'm used to minor body repairs I've taken auto body in high school finished and restored my first vehicle (1970 Chevy pickup) and painted it with the help of my dad who's clueless on that sort of thing but cuttin and welding I'm leaving that up to a professional! Such as my buddy..

Sounds to me like you guys have sorta drifted away from giving opinions and into the territory of trying to tell him not to do it...If he wants to take on a project, that's his decision, but he doesn't need the entire forum telling him it's not worth it or it's way too much work or it should just be taken to the junkyard etc. etc.. Even if he can't make it into a stock factory rx7 there's still loads and loads of potential in that thing, I'd have bought it, too.

Dayum.
Love to see how she sounds having that echoing off the ground like that.
How did you attach those splash guards? I had tons of trouble getting mine to stick, they still don't look right. I see yours stick up a bit but that's nothing to how much mine do.

The 1st of the FC's (Pics 1-3), bought for some of its parts, It turned out to be a runner, thou after a run on the dyno a little fire set in on way home.
The 2nd FC (Pics 4-5), just play around with.. Still yet to get past sorting stage as other projects have held my attention.
