New setup almost done...(Same 20b, new clothes)
I'm only a couple days away from driving my new setup that ive been working on in my 2 free hours a week for a couple of months, so i figured i'd post up some pictures, see what you guys think....
Most of the changes are small things- I opened the exhaust ports a little more and replaced some damaged apex seals. Re-used all the other seals (including my viton water seals for the 4th time). I don't have any pics of the internals, but heres the new exhaust manifold:
Also new wastegate plumbing:
New front lip/splitter:
The stuff sticking up is part of the ducting, it will all be taped off to get a good flow path.
Notice in the last pic where I modified the IC end tank to get a better angle as well. Funny story-when I cut the end tank off I found a sports bra in there- I guess it was one of my ex-gf's and I used it to cover a hose when I was working on something and forgot about it. I'm guessing that was costing me a nice chunk of power. More pics on new IC piping:

New cover for the top part of my ducting path:
New fan and mounting brackets:
New battery box, although you can't hardly see it under my crappy battery:
I actually rewired everything- most of the wires are now in the area where the wipers are, but I don't have any good pictures of that. Heres my power distribution block tho:
Added a new ignition box and general mounting bracket. The ignition doesnt seem to work very well, and now I hear that these are junk, so I'll have to replace it with something that works, but oh well:
One little issue that I had with the new manifold was some hood clearance problems, easily fixed with my friend the grinder:
This will eventually be worked into a scoop that also has a cold air box under the turbo/filter, but I havent got too far on it yet:
Thats pretty much all I have pics of, but heres a couple other engine bay shots, and one of my trusty sidekick while I'm at it. My other sidekick was around too, but I couldnt talk her into any bikini pics, especially since its like 50 and raining here today...
let me know what you guys like/hate about it! The goal this time is 650whp and a little better reliability, should be pretty easy, especially once I install the water/meth kit I have for it.

i am at a loss for words...i admire your hard work and your skill/knowledge used to get the 20b swap done and making so much power.
on the other hand, the car looks terrible IMO. there are wires EVERYWHERE, your brake booster line is hilarious, the hood, hacked up front bumper, diamond plate radiator panel, front splitter, it's just too much for me.
i would find a new shell for ~$200 and swap everything over.

One issue is that if I swapped everything into a new shell, I would be taking a lot of time I don't have, and I would have to make all the same cuts, because all this stuff doesnt easily fit into a FC engine bay. I will admit that I haven't gotten around to redoing all the hoses yet, but I will soon as I'm done with more important stuff. Other than that tho, I don't care about any of the stuff you mentioned. This isnt a pretty car that I'm gonna take to shows, everything is about function.
Actually, I will be running the DIY 2 stroke thing- I just had to move the tank for the new IC piping and haven't gotten around to reinstalling it yet.
I am running a gt4202R, LTX12s, and 3x 850s + 3x 1680s.

Definitely function over form. I like it. It's inspirational to see someone on the forum that has built their own car from the ground up from the motor internals, to fabrication on the chassis, to tuning.
Any 1/4 estimates for when you get it running?

Badass engine+turbo setup ! But damn, no offense, that car is haggard . It kind of adds to it's appeal though, charming in it's own way.
Edit: I just looked closer at this picture (http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...c/GEDC0583.jpg), and it appears that the supply of coolant to the turbo is coming after the thermostat. Wouldn't that prevent coolant from getting to the turbo until the car is warmed up? Or are you running no thermostat?

g14novak i'd say about 11.5@140, the car has the power for a low 10/high 9 second pass, but I'm afraid to run my slicks or even really sticky street tires until I upgrade the tranny and rear end.
maczpayne yeah he's a blue heeler. He's an awesome dog but he's kinda a pain in the *** because he has so much energy.
need rx7 i am not running a thermostat, but it doesnt matter either way because even with the thermostat closed it would get coolant, there is a bypass that lets a little bit through...I am thinking about moving that line though for a different reason- the top of the fitting is higher than the cap, which makes it hard to bleed the system...

The biggest eye sore is the 2nd hood scoop.... Are you serious man? I would of made a new manifold to get away from that disgusting piece. To each his own. Function over visual right? ....
Oh and almost forgot... You mentioned your girl in this post. That means you must abide to man law.

I'm not worried about that- the aluminum will flex a lot, and if i hit it hard enough to bend it, I can bend it back, or make a new one. Besides, it only took me an hour or two to make the whole thing.
