We don't know what they spent on the seats, but the likelihood is that an upholstery shop with a good reputation very well could have done it for cheaper. They got what they wanted though and the seats look good.

The interior is pretty clean, but I'm not a fan of the carpeted dash cover.

But you dont know that, have you ever tried shopping for someone to make custom upholstery?
Ordering from leatherseats.com and hooking them on there is not the same thing, Im talking about someone to recover your seats in custom skins, repair the foam, etc.
It aint as easy as you think.

I never said anything definitive. It could very well be that I'm wrong. I have looked into having seats redone, as the seats in my TII are trashed. However, me throwing out numbers I may have been quoted is useless in comparison purposes anyway, as the OP is in southern California. It's going to vary based on location. I can't speak for anyone else, but a lot of times a popular shop may have prices a little higher than someone else you have to look a little harder for, even though their work is comparable in quality. That's all I was trying to add.

there is ALWAYS someone cheaper.
"popular" shops usually have higher prices because they are conducting legitimate business and it cost them more to operate then some guy in the back of a garage not paying his taxes, paying cash employees, not having proper business licenses, disposing of waste properly, fire permits, welding permits, etc and so forth

very nice seats. i agree the suede will wear out quicker than alot of other fabrics out there......but that just means itll be time to re-wrap them

Agreed. And on the flip side of that, among those conducting legitimate business, someone has to be the cheapest. Sometimes quality suffers because of that, sometimes not.

But none the less, they did turn out nice.
Not even close, my problem with him is his arrogance. Read his build thread, John at mazdatriz is the best, my engine flows more than anyone elses ever, my car is the best, my **** don't stink, blah blah blah I didn't do anything save bring a car somewhere, unbolt some coilovers, and have daddy pay for everything.

I have respect for built, not bought, and even less when people don't know what they're talking about yet think they're **** is the best. Mazdatrix can build an engine, but they're no where near the best.

I recall saying- I was TOLD john was the best, I was TOLD it flowed the best and I have made it pretty clear that I have no where near the nicest 7 in the world. But I do know it is a beautifly done car and that I am very proud of it. I may be wrong but I may be right. You don't live in Ca so you don't know how good john is or isn't and you don't have my motor so you don't know how good it does flow. I think if anyone is arrogant it is the person who follows me around to talk **** everytime I post because you are on the other side of a computer screen.

I know the suede wont last as long but I really wanted it so I went ahead and got it. I have cheapo walmart seat covers that will be on the seats most of the time. It is my show car so I dont want them to wear to quick but it is also my dd so that kind of makes it hard.

Seat covers are gay as **** (so are bumper, phone and laptop covers). Don't buy stuff you can't afford to use. Only thing you need to cover up is your dick, can't buy a new one.
