My new (ghetto-fabulous) IC setup
You can see my old even-more-ghetto-fabulous setup in my profile album. I decided I didn't like it anymore. Most importantly, the piping was in the way of re-mounting the anti-swaybar previously removed by who knows. I misjudged the size of the IC I bought, but I was able to make it work and had some left over piping and coupling too.
In this first picture I had to re-use this old pipe (slightly under 2.5 inches) because again, I misjudged a few things and didn't think to buy a new 90 degree pipe. Anyway...

There is already a hole conveniently here from the factory. It was slightly under 2.5 inches, but I shoved a piece of smaller pipe in it, and wiggled it around expanding the metal and was able to easily get the new piping in.
Here is my proudest achievement! I kept the battery in place, but moved the leading coils over. Just enough room here to get the piping in.
Got some crazy bends here. It's certainly not optimal, but will work. I have to source a new TB elbow.
Just gotta get t-bolt clamps and a better turbo outlet pipe.

Hey it works
I like how the pipe is on the underside between the turbo and intercooler.
For the throttle body elbow, you could just cut the 'face' off that and weld a different angle pipe on that.

I had to work with what I had, which meant running pipe underneath. The most common method is via behind the passenger light area above. Ultimately my goal was to not hack anything up. All i had to do was enlarge a hole, and bend some metal underneath. Not a lot of work for me. I prefer a different than usual setup.
Like mentioned, that's a major U-turn in air path right at the TB elbow. The next thing will be to fix that area.
I did some measuring and bought some pipe lengths and various couplers, hoping I could make something work; I didn't plan this out very thoroughly. For now I am happy.

I like the set-up. I wouldn't mind going the same route you did but in the future. How much did the piping/intercooler run you?
I got a n/a throttle body elbow if you need it beefhole. I can bring it to the next function 7 meet if your going. No charge.

I paid $325ish for everything, but I did order too much extra pipe. However, I reused an old pipe and 1 coupler so it's a wash I suppose. The killer was 1 elbow coupler (which is hard to see). 2inch 90 degree to 2.5 inch off the turbo outlet. Those are expensive!
I guess the price was OK. Most e-bay kits are $300-$400

Very nice, I'm working on something vaugely similar, except using an EVO IC and hard piping from various turbo cars in the junk yard. I was wondering what to do about the TB elbow, N/A....brilliant!
