you are ok , lets see what you have

s5 t2 mptor- all sensors and plugs injectors everything s5
s5 t2 harness
s5 t2 ecu

NO PROBLEMS SO FAR

your car is s4, big deal put everything on just as you would


things to get- s5 t2 cluster optional if you have a boost gauge and oil press gauge in hand no need to run it until u get the right one

s5 afm, its the tube looking one not the boxy one- you will need it for that ecu you running

uhmmm thats it you dont have to change no other harneses

the s5 t2 gauge cluster is the round gauge one, if you have the s4 t2 one its the half moon gauges

but you are not gonna be driving it 100% of the time so if you have those two gauges in hand thats helpful ohh and a water temp gauge too- if you dont thats easy just buy a used cluster they are like 20-40 bucks i bet japan2la or lucky7 racing has one in hand

i say just run what you got, get the s5 afm.. start premixing your fuel to be safe. and just baby the car around if it runs til your comfortable.

My car is originaly s4 na 87 4 lugged and all, the dashes/s4 body harness doesnt hook up with a s5 t2 ecu, it only fits s4 na or s4 t2 ecus. On the drivers side of the harness. it has the crank angle sensor plug, well so does the s5 t2 engine harness, so now I have two crank angle sensor plugs. The plug on the s4 dash harness doesnt plug into the s5 t2 ecu.. This is the problem.. I wish everything was plugnplay.

If i want to continue using the s5 t2 setup, I think I have to rip out my dash and remove all the s4 wiring in the whole car all theway to the tail lights and find another donor car with s5 t2 wiring and swap it over. But damn, i got no funds to buy that..

IfIwant to go s4 t2 ecu harness, it will fit the s4 bodys harness but I will have to change out the engines s5 sensors to s4 and wire it from there. I would need to look for a set of s4 sensors,and MAP pressuresensor..Hopefuly still can use the s4 na afm, as I think It should plug into a s4 t2 harness but not sure if it is the same. ..damn all this wiring is killin my head...

I just remembered something.. Two years ago when I had JPR motors swap the 13bt in, I remember He was using a t2 ecu at first.I believe it was a s4 ecu because it plugged right in. However the car wouldnt rev over 4k, it was gay, and it would flood up the ass. Then he tried the s4 na ecu and it worked better, it reved past 4k and ran good, and started almost everytime.
-the problems
-the harness he used was the s4 na harness, but he somehow got it to work with the s5 t2 injectors by changing the injector plugs and re routing the low impedence relay shizz..iono...hmmmm

well i thought hard and well since im almost there might as well go all out..Im guna give up on the factory ecus and harness.. Theyre gay.. Im guna save $$ for a standalone, perhaps microtech..Get rid of all that extra wires nonsense solendoids and BS afm,acv and bac valves.. Meanwhile break in the motor with jprs ecu setup.Im not guna daily the fc anymore...Im guna use my dads car for awhile.

the turbo motor you had b4, was that S4 ?? cant you swap the harness/sensors off ur block to it? S5 core motor with S4 sensors/harness etc

dude, check this out, i've done this many times

you can run the engine with your NA harness

all you need is
N332 or 333 ECU
N318 AFM and MAP
and Turbo injectors

THATS IT


you can then sell all your s5 sensors and stuff for lotta $$$


to run S5 ECU and stuff you would have to convert the car harness (the one under the dash and to the fuel pump and bacically everything) to s5. now, you can use s5 NA car harness to and it's direct plug in for s5 t2 harness, but just do what i told you first,

USE S4 NA HARNESS

okay i plugged in the Na harness today... Ordered the reducer couplings. So once i get the couplers, Ill fire it up and break in the with the s4 Na harness and t2 injectors...

Is the motor all S5?

You can swap the front cover to an S4 TII and use the mechanical OMP. If not, just block off the OMP on the S5 and run premix.

All the sensors and stuff on the motor that would plug into an S4 N/A Harness would have to be changed to match.

Also, get an S4 TII ecu, and an SAFC if you're hurting for money. You could at least control fuel delivery to keep you from blowing another motor.

I was in the same position as you, S5 13BT in an S4. I went the easy route and got a standalone instead lol.

today i tried to fire it up with the NA ecu and harness. I converted the injector plugs to t2.. I been trying to start it for 4 hours? I added atf in the Leading holes and it was trying to start,it would do the rembleing thing where its about to start, but it just wasnt firing up. The motor was getting warmer too. and theres white fume smoke coming from the exhaust.. Its trying to start but just wont. Tried starter fluid as well. I think my starter is too weak. If it would just spin faster it should start. If i could just tow it up my hill and pop start it in 2nd i think it will work, but Im still missing a t2 throttle cable so icant do that.. damn... im trading my N370 ecu for a s4 t2 ecu tmrw at lucky 7.. then all ill need left is a s4 t2 harness and injectors for it to run right... I think i have to replace the starter.. If iwas ballin il just pay ashop to do all the work lol

my motor is all s5 t2. The OMP is blocked off, so I wont need to replace the cover to s4. I premix... so im just waiting till i find a s4 t2 harness

bro

you dont need s4 t2 harness

im serious

if you use t2 harness you will have to redo few things like CAS wiring, temp gauge and alt connections. there are differences in pins in those 2 plugs (green and yellow, located next to atmospheric sensor in the pass foot well area)

just use NA wiring, u need the T2 AFM tho. connect all sensors. the AFM is very imprtant. needs to be plugged in.

another thing, you need to make sure your vacuum is routed correctly

are you trying to pass smog?

you can eliminate all rats nest. block off all connections on TB, except to front/top (thats for MAP sensor). run block off plates. then connect FPR to the nipple inside the LIM point to the firewall. run your BOV from the nipple located under the BAC. as far as PCV leave it open or recirculate back to intake before compressor.

DONE

the car will run.

Current setup:

Ive done the whole rats nest removal, and blocked off all the nipples on the LIM and UIM . Fuel LInes run straight to the rails..Ran one vacuum line to the fuel rail, and the Boost pressure sensor is hooked up to the nippple on the UIM near the ACV. The ALtenator plug is in and so are the water temperature sensor,DP 02 sensor, the AFM is a NA s4 one..will the NA s4 afm work for a t2? It worked on my old setup that JPR did b4. Injector plugs replaced with t2 ones, and the resistor box has been replaced w/ the one JPR made to work with s5 injectors...
I Just traded for a s4 t2 ecu today from Lucky seven, Il try that ecu on the NA harness tmrw..

yes, t2 ecu with NA harness is fine.

the difference is only in 2 or 3 pins, but it's completely irrelevant. it all emission stuff you are not using anyway.


as far as injectors. you need resistors only if you have BEIGE injectors (low resistance 2ohm) 86-87.5 cars

if you have red injectors (high resistance, 12ohm, 87.5-91 cars), you DONT need resistors. meaning eliminating stock resistor pack if your car is pre 1987.5. you need to run power from the middle pin to each of remaining 4 pins on resistor pack plug.

please check the injector resistance with multimeter, should be around 2 or 12ohm

also check power at the injector plug. one out of 2 pins needs to have 12V, when key in on position.




yes the car will run with S4 NA AFM, just dont boost too much.

you also need turbo fuel pump.

purple injector is turbo, high resistance

so you are good,

just make sure the resistor pack is eliminated properly and power transfered to the injector plug.

make sure you crank it with out the injector fuse a bit so you can build oil pressure
then after that is done pop the fuse bcak in and push start it

could be battery though, did you try jumping? since ur car sat for so long.. . usually a dying starter will not spin at all, usually randomly spin

yeah i had my dads truck jump start.. The battery did get weaker tho during the time of the swap, its still a new battery...yous guys know if autozone charges ur battery for free?or was it pepboys or kragen that does it?

i was wondering if you kept the TII trans/drive train throughout the whole swap...Turbo, back to na, now back to turbo... cause im planning my swap, and if you kept your TII trans/diff when you had the n/a in there maybe i could start from there on up.. if so, what did you have to do for it all to work with the n/a?

yeah i kept the turbo 2 drivetrain setup the whole time, but recently I wanted more lock on my diff so I took out my t2 diff and halfshafts and welded my open diff laying around and swapped it in with the halfshafts. As far as the driveshaft, it is still t2, I modded the t2 driveshaft to fit a NA diff, and can still fit a t2 diff.
My Na was weak with the turbo drivetrain setup.. I think cause the t2 drivetrain is beefier than NAs=more rotating mass..

well as of now, its t2 tranny, t2 driveshaft, NA welded diff, and na halfshafts..
Ive heard from my friend saying drifters can push up to 300 hp on stock halfshafts np.

If your guna use a NA motor with t2 drivetrain, Youll need to swap a t2 flywheel on ur NA motor, get aimpact gun to remove teh flywheel nut, swap the flywheels..It has to be a t2 flywheel to fit in a t2 tranny.

The paint was color matched with OMNI brand paint ,I think its also from PPG? But yeah its the cheapest paint you can buy in paint stores that works well. Instead of reducer, I used Acetone to mix it 1:1 [acetone is cheaper than reducer and works fine] The clear is A New European brand called UPOLV, its like $80 a gallon. My gun is 10 year old Devilbliss....I miss my anest Iwata.... I still need to get the waterborn adpaters...to convert my gun... I have 4 cheap homedepot water traps hooked up to my compressor...

yeah i got the starter from Kents house, Ill put it on later when the weather cools down..
So far I have installed a few block off plates..I still need to find/make one more.... I also intstalled Jasons 4pt harness :) Oh and thx Himeh for the throttle cable mount and wheellss! Still waiting for the couplers, should be in today or tmrw...:( then Itll be ready to firee upp

I just noticed Himehs red I had color matched looks like EL Nenes red as well just a thought....

PPG D## code Gloss black Global, plus MET. silver..... Going for a carbon LOOK...
Hmm some gold pearrllll for the 2nd stage paint
and UPOLV clear for third stage color..

Result should be something like Black carbon pearl goldd.

just got done spraying..... my guns being gay again...sigh I need a new clear gun... then the plastic on the floor picked up wind and smootheredover the bottom of the hood as itwas drying.. hahahaah LOL at myself..
