Cut and paste, followed by picking colors off of the red and clear lenses to fill in the edges.
If it was only that easy to do on the real thing. I does give everybody a good idea how great just red and clear look. I am really diggin the first photo I posted, take out the vertical seperator and it doesn't scream 80's so much BUT it would probably be harder to achieve. One solid piece of Lexan would be easier to just paint half red like RRTEC said and would achieve the second pic look.
I AM GONNA DO THIS WHEN I GET BACK FROM IRAQ IN MAY!!! It just looks too good!

The s4 tails have been ignored too long... lol.. The center bar looks good with the split colors (red/clear) my goal was for the center to be all red... So you guys can do what you want I am glad that the door has been opened for others to modify these lenses..

question is: would it be hard to retain the center bar? I have never taken S4 tails apart? It is all one piece right?
(read much kid? its photoshop)
No way man, I do it old school with Windows Paint. Everybody should have that sorry excuse for a program.

RRTEC:
Could you do a "Re- Cap?"
You mentioned heat in referance to manipulating lexan... could you explain?
How did you apply the heat?
What tools and methods did you use do this?
What kind of Red Tinting and, where could we find this Tint?
How much and, where did you get the Lexan?
Thanks...

Sure.
Remove all the screws off the housings
Preheat your oven to 250deg
Put the light on a pan and close the door, set the timer for 9 minutes
Watch closely.
When the alarm goes off pull out the fixture, (you should be able to touch it with your hands) and then use a large screwdriver to GENTLY seperate the lense..
Go to http://www.estreetplastics.com/Trans...Sheet_s/57.htm and buy some Red lexan or clear or whatever color you want....
Use a dremel to cut the lexan to shape, I would use a peice of cardboard as a template.. It is pliable enough to not heat the lexan, but I used a hairdrier to help cure the 2 part epoxy that I used to adhere it to the housing....
I think that about covers it.. You can buy Clear lexan at hoomedepot, and tint can be purchased at lots of places locally (or go to a tint shop)....

So im about ready to order some lexan but I'm wondering this, If i was trying to do the way murray posted, to get a seamless color split, should I just get some smoked lexan and then get some of the red candy apple mode paint? Sounds like the easy way right?

you would have to start off with clear lexan first because when you paint over the smoked color it will probably make it a lot darker...
