Modernizing some S4 Tails

I understand what you are trying to accomplish and I am not against with it. I am actually looking forward to see how they look on the car. I am not recommending you anything. Sorry about that if I let you feel bad.

Not sure what I want to do next... LED's were in the original plan.... I just don't want to dump any money into these right now as I don't have an FC to put them on... It was more of a "lets try this" kinda thing... A diffuser could be added for sure.. or LED strips.. But for now, sitting on the shelf they will probably remain just plain red... Of course one could always just put in those LED Bulb clusters and call it a day...

Easy Breezy, The hardest part was removing the old lenses without cracking the surround.. I was lazy and decided to break off the parts I didn't want instead of cutting it.. No major problems, just a little risky for someone without patience..lol

if i ship you my extra tails, and paid you would you do this to mine? it can be a extra set of test/experiment lenses. I dont really need them. I just bought them in case i wanted to do something like this and well.. ur a few large steps ahead. lol Im serious so pm me if you want a extra set to mess around on.
Edit: I think if there was some contrast to the darkness in top/bottom then it would look 10 times better. Just a suggestion. And clear for reverse? wut are you gonna do for that?

I got it from http://www.estreetplastics.com/Trans...Sheet_s/57.htm
I am not interested in making these for $.. It really isn't that hard to do yourself.. I would have to charge about $100 to do it if they were already seperated. Then you would have to pay shipping both ways... It would cost a lot. I have tons of irons in the fire, so I would much rather that you guys just do it yourself...
I am sure that this thread will bring some great ideas and you guys can do what you want, your imagination is the only thing that can stop you. So feel free to post up your success'. I will see if a local board member will let me mount them in thier car to take some in car shots..

i dont know what material the housing is made out of but i think it look even more nice if you polished the metal on the insides so they shine like the bottom right corner. very original though.
or, have you tried blacking out the bottom inside light?
