Wow, I'm suprised noone has mentioned JIC magic coilovers. My friend has his lexus sc on some JIC coilovers with a jic strut bar, and man, I couldnt imagine having anything else. He had a full tien setup before and got rid of it pretty quick after having a ride in another car with JIC coilovers. My 7 had more power than his lexus at any moment. I could always pull on him in a straight line but in a corner fuget about it. That heavy *** car would turn so flat and with so much control. It makes tokico blues feel like ****.

Says these are $1600 on the GCAD website. They are also made of aluminum and not recommended for street driving. They also haven’t updated their website in ages. But I guess that’s typical of most anti-social engineers!

yup, i didn't think those were only $1200! $1600 at least.
they are some pretty serious coilovers. great for the race track, but i don't know how they would be on the street...i guess will lower spring rates and dampening it should be ok? it doesn't say anything about spring rates on the website but i think you can request pretty much anythying.
double adjustable, easily revalvable, titanium internals...pretty sweet if you need all that adjustability. probably the best non-external reservoir set up that you can get, and they even state that they are as good as any external reservoir system.

Something is going on with Kei office right now. We tried to get some coils but they are not bringing the product in or something. I spoke with the two importers of the line. I can't recall exactly what the problem was.

JIC is an OK product, we've had issues with faulty dampers and bad service in the past however. This was three years ago tho.

Spring rate is 8 kgf/mm front, 6 kgf/mm back. 15 way adjustable. For rebuild and warranty, it's done by Buddy Club USA. It comes with 1 year warranty.

Megan Racing is currently producing a street set. I was told they will be similar in design and price as their current 240sx street coilovers. Check for updates. This is the link for the 240sx kit for reference: http://www.meganracing.com/products/...asp?prodid=317

US-based
8/6 kg rates
32 adjustment levels
camber adjustment

i don't believe they make a dampening-adjustable coilover for entry-level price, do they?

Cusco is another company that does not offer an adjustable (dampening) coilover for entry-level.

unless i am mistaken.

cusco's "cheapest" coilover with dampening adjustment (the Zero-2) is $2100.

Sorry about the price on the GC. For some reason $399 x 4 = $1200... I are dumb.
Last time I talked to them (granted, a couple years ago), they could set them up pretty much any way you wanted. You tell them what spring rate you are running, and the weight of the vehicle, and they can set the damping right in the middle of the usable range. So you can adjust it up or down to suit your needs/desires. And if that doesn't get you where you want, then you can rebuild them yourself and change out the shims/valves.

ok, thanks for the info. looks like those GC advanced design coilovers are really great particularly for those who intend to do a lot of road course racing. they are more expensive than the typical entry-level coilover, but for the adjustability and performance it is a bargain.

I've read from several sources that the Advance Design shocks have a very limited range of adjustment, and that they're not the most durable for street use, but that said, they're a racing shock, plain and simple, and I would not call them an entry level setup.

I'm not sure if there are others but the AD dampers are triple adjustable and definitely not entry level. I too have heard they are not compliant for the street.

And yes, about the AD coilovers, they are race-oriented for sure. i would not put those on a street-only vehicle.

you should get some kei office information on here, i have a set on my car, the car handles incredibly well and they seem bo be made well too, i read somewhere that they are tested by the drift king of japan and tweaked to every car to meet his expectations.
