Here's the two 12's in my 'vert before being finished. I don't like how it takes up 90% of the trunk, so I'm going to redo it this summer... I want to get some shallow mounts and put them behind the seats. I love the idea of a .3 cu ft enclosure.

Lots of people do it. I've heard mixed reviews about how hard it hits. It depends on speaker choice, enclosure style, build quality, etc, etc, etc, etc. I tried to do a fiberglass form fit enclosure to put 10s in that area on the 'vert, and it ended up being a pain in the ***, probably because of my lack of experience with enclosures. That's why I'm going with shallow mounts, so I can just build a good old fashioned MDF box.

The key to that is facing them the right way. From what I understand (which means anyone who has first hand experience, correct away), the way they fire there is not optimal. If you want to go strictly with replacing the storage bins, they won't sound good... Something about the waves from the speaker canceling out because of the roof and hatch glass. You need to either angle them forward or angle them back... Straight up sucks. You might want to consider some sort of bandpass or ported enclosure to aim the waves in an optimal configuration.

i had these in my 7 for a while, but took the subs out cause the alt is too weak. 2 12" infinitys(yes those are towels stuffed in the ports) 5 1/4 fusion speakers stuffed under the dash and 6.5 rockfords in the rear towers.
also got a new 7" gps headunit but no pictures of it yet.

I just started on my build today, i will post some more pictures here when i'm done.
But here is the box, made it so it will fit in the wheelwell to keep it from taking up too much space in the trunk. it's about 28litres, so big enough for most 10/12" sub's.
Obviously the box look like ****, but i will make a coverplate, and get it looking nice and clean.
