let see the best widebody 2nd gen
#126
Figured I would toss my car into the site since I haven't seen any RMAGIC kits represented yet.
It's slightly tweaked w/ my own mods, but you can still see the basic kit.
(except for the rear fenders- pretty much completely remade those)
But included a pic to show what they looked like.
Still under construction;
This is the Raceonusa RMagic full 8 piece wide body kit.
Purchase price normally, $650.00 or so, I got it for $400.00 Ebay bid online.
Fittment as expected, had to grind and cut to make fit.
Some thin spots that broke through.
Overall: ok kit though.
"and now, for something completely different" - for those Monty Python fans out there:
Don't get the front end confused w/ the Erebuni Demon kit - this one is much longer and aero looking.
It was my biggest fear when I purchased this kit, but it fits the car great. - but it is definitely a bold change in the look.

The kit gives you a different back piece than what is shown in the ad.

[/IMG]
The rear piece was kinda lame, just a thin piece you can see in black in the 2nd modification pic.

So I did this:

Which I highly recommend, cause it winds up like this:

General response:
RX7 fans love it or hate it, it's a very black or white opinion type kit, no real gray area - personal choice.
Basic car enthusiasts response: can't drive it w/out getting almost always positive comments. Usually have to leave 10 mins earlier than needed cause I will need to talk to the guy who stops me in the parking lot that wants to check it out.
Great thread idea!
But need more selection of kits posted instead of pic's of the same one's.

yeah man that thing is beastly / madmax looking, I love it!
I think the front bumper would look 10x better with an undertray so it looks more professional and finished... just a thought. I never liked being able to see the ground thru aftermarket bumper vents and the wheel wells.

red_s5_fc3s THreshER7, that modification you did makes the rear fenders of the R Magic kit looks better than the original, but why did Raceon send you a GP Sports rear end?
Wow, just went to ebay to get a pic of the rear section, and it's not available any longer. I think that made this a 1 year only kit, unless you get it through RMagic now.
And that's about a $3,000 or more investment + shipping.
I suddenly feel special!

Thanks for the compliment on the rear fenders - yeah, I have to admit they turned out much better than I had imagined.

Looking at the pic, you must be referring to the smaller ducts at the bottom - ok, I can see that. Good suggestion, I'll see what I can do. It would look better if it wasn't see through as well as functional.
racex7 I bet Bruce Wayne is wondering how and why someone broke in the bat cave and stole his hood
(not nearly as beasty as your motor, but that's still a work in progress as funds allow as well)
hah - found you on the V8RX7 forum - "Horsepower: 635" - that's serious HP!
I am at about 340 HP at this time- but that's a different topic.
Toyo Kogyo - Looks half assed.
"Still under construction"
panels are not perfect, the body is as exactly as the kit came - wavy.
Parts are not lined up perfectly yet - it's still a mess.
But, no mention as far as I could see in this thread about the car needing to be in show condition.
It just said to show your favorite 2nd gen wide body - so I did.
Thanks,
Troy Fitz.
