Drop that tank and clean it properly, it will only be more anoying to do once everything else is up and running. a gallon or two of Evaporust (available @ Advanced ...and others) will work wonders. Just tild the tank @ different angles to let it soak in and do work.

While you're working on the fenders, might as well roll that little 1cm lip in and hammer it flat to the fender, it likes to catch on tire tread and get pulled out, deforming your fenders.

I did tap it up a tad. I suppose a little more wont hurt any.

I put in a gallon of muriatic acid and let it sit for over 5 hours, sloshing it around every once in a while, and it did almost nothing for me.

Not "tap" flatten.

Is it rust our is it crusty oils fuel/oil? If its the former evapo rust is the ticket. And it needs to sit for hours on each area. Took me 2 days (because I had to leave for work). Do at least 8Hrs/ area. No shaking, just let it sit and work.

It's more of a petrolium kind of super gooey substance. That's why I wasn't really worried about it. If I see any real issues with it, I'll drop the tank and clean it.

I think the first thing I should have done when I got the car was strip the car down. Today I relized how much this car is tweaked. The front bumper wont bolt on because of it. I came to the conclusion that I shouldn't continue throwing money into this car. So I will sell it.
Since the engine runs, I will ask for $1,000. But I can go lower. If anyone is interested, please don't hesitate to PM me. Everything I have for this car will be included.

I commend you on your efforts, good learning experience.

I would pull the front bumper and matte black the whole car just to make it presentable. . Good luck with the project.
Thought I suggested that I while ago ^................................................. .............Smart Move on the walking away thing.... If I were you I would part it out.... Not only will you make more, but you can be sure to make sure nooone else ends up with the chassis. Scrap prices are up, and you can recoup money off even the shell to the scrapyard.

Well Im sure that the rear wheel is turned because of the missing lateral link. But the body should have been obvious. Ill try that. If someone wants to buy it all, I'll make sure that they know everything that I know.

sux man. But it seems like you've learned a lot and you'll be very appreciative when you get your hands on a decent car.

I have learned a lot. I'm keeping on the lookout for an earrrlly 90s mustang notchback 5.0, or something decent with a bench seat for my girl. Or possibly a better condition RX7.
If anyone needs parts, I have most of a running car. lol

Keep all the good stuff, buy yourself a bare shell and start all over. Its alright mang everyones done it once, the first car I bought on my own was a complete piece of ****. I got ripped off, put a shitload of money into it until it was ready to fall apart and I took a loss and sold it. Remember next time you go take a look at a car, check the frame thoroughly, check for overspray and damage in crush spots. Its easy to buy a shitbox that looks nice, check for repainting and bondo if you see it stay away...ask me how I know all these things too..It all comes with experience man, just like getting in this trade.

I suppose I could do something like that, since I know my engine runs. But there isn't much that I would keep. Just my engine, fuel pump, and I dont know. Thats only if I decided to stay with RX7s.

I want to just sell everything. I have my heart set on buying my dads old 2003 MR2 that he traded in for a 2010 Suzuki SX4. So I need to get rid of all of my RX7 junk to afford it. Someone please help me out, I really miss that car.

Put your car for sale in the for sale section. But you will need to get a compression test to ensure the motor is actually good if you plan to get anything for the car as a whole.

In case there was confusion, this is not a part out thread.
That question should be asked here.

But, to not be a dick. There are already several people interested in the engine. If they fail to follow through, then I'd say a clean $1000 shipped.
