So glad the title is changed considering the steaming piles that were recently posted. Should be called "Brokeback" stance FC's.

I guarantee you own a piece of shit fc.

Doesn't count! Body roll hides the true stance of this car! ;)

Really? I didn't think it made much sense. Maybe I have to be on the right level to understand it...1mm off the ground.

I made a post in the thread requesting title change, title was changed. How does that relate to the dictionary and suicide?

Slow Rotor 01-19-11 01:25 PM

Nevermind!

Idiot! That car seems properly built for going quick around corners. I don't mind these nice looking cars in this topic, nor do I mind ricer cars, people should do what makes them happy, but don't go hating on proper cars.

The talent to rivet and zip-tie ugly pieces of fiberglass that don't do jack shit to my car? No thanks.

If you're going to post pictures of cars to back up your statements at least use ones that don't look like hot garbage.

K-Tune 01-19-11 06:29 PM

Do you really think that wing is necessary. I sure don't.

You have seen that is a track car, right? And you do know FC's produce lift, right? ofcoarse he needs it! All I can make up from that one picture is that it seems like a fairly complex track layout with plenty of cornering involved. You don;t think every pound of downforce is bennificlial in that situation?

Riz.

I suppose Erik's SSM car doesn't need one either, right?

Wings are cool looking.........okay well SOME wings are cool looking

True, the avg speed varies from course to course - some courses will have you dip back into 1st gear even. Typically though I've seen the faster cars get up to 80-90 on the fast sections, enough to generate downforce using spoilers with suitable angle of attack. The local events here are mostly 2nd gear, which I like.

The cars might not look great with the huge spoilers - but that and the increased AOA are avenues these cars use to generate significant downforce at not-so-fast speeds. I wouldn't use the same spoilers on a road course though.

Tofuman FC3S 01-20-11 02:10 AM

Wings work at any speed, it's just that they become more effective as speed increases. Only real drawback wings have is the added weight which in 99.9% of the cars can be removed from a different part of the car within 50cm of the wing. The drawback of drag is is a side affect of the speed which is cancelled out by the positive effect of downforce. If it doesn't result in a netto gain, then it's time to go back to the drawing board.

Riz.

Linguo415 01-20-11 03:01 AM

i wonder how much down force those wings generate at 100mph. Im sure there is a decent amount of math involved in my questions answere. you think the wings that shineauto has to offer like the wangan generate any down foce? they arent tall like the black fc and fd are.

Tofuman FC3S 01-20-11 05:08 AM

Wangan isn't realy a wing, it's a spoiler.

Riz.
