Rolled & pulled.

I rolled the shit out of my rears and they look nothing like that because they are doubled paneled. Basically 2 pieces of metal pressed together. Plus the line looks two perfect to have been rolled like that. Unless you removed 1 of the layers of metal I don't see how this could be done.

Yup, flared.

Metal can be shaped, and to a certain extent, stretched. Look at "slammedblk7" 's FC, he did it with only a baseball bat.

I work with metal the time because I do paintless dent repair and being that the metal is 2 pieces pressed together I find this doubtful without seperating the pieces. I'll have to see the write up he did. I'm wanting to go wider in the rear so i'm going with wider fenders just was curious to how this was done.

Proper stance with bn sports you WANT to repair over and over and over again. |

You want the ghetto way? Grab a bat, raise your car a little bit, (need to be able to fit the bat between your fender and your tire) and have at it. Essentially you're using the weight of the vehicle to force the metal onto the bat. Holding it at different angles creates different profiles.
Please explain how going wide over fenders in the rear is ghetto. I used a very strong fender roller and was able to get the lip rolled flat and get some decent pull but doing what grip did seems like an impossible task with just a roller because of the panel being doubled paneled. Is the s4 single paneled in the rear? The main reason I want rear over fenders is because I want to go wider and the rear even with being flared out doesn't match the front fenders which from the factory already look like wide fenders. The back is just too flat, and being a rwd car it looks retarded imo. All I can say is if Grips s4 was doubled paneled then he did a great job, but the fact that he re-painted both panels probably made things go a bit easier since he wasn't concerned with destroying the paint from cracking. |
Yeah, it is ghetto and rear over fenders IS NOT ghetto. It's fucking easy. Tape, rivet, done.
s4 rears are DOUBLE'D. See my car? S4. See ass? Pulled. It looks like shit. I one upped the ghetto by using a 2" socket on a loooong breaker bar to pull my fenders and it came out like crap, mad uneven so i'm doing it the "right way" and buying overs and bigger wheels when budget allows. :D |
"It's fucking easy. Tape, rivet, done."
Don't forget about cutting about an inch or more of the fender edge out so you can fit the wider stance. |

Don't forget about cutting about an inch or more of the fender edge out so you can fit the wider stance. That's only difficult if you forgot where you put your cutting tools or extension cord/air compressor. :D I wonder if anyone has ever used panel bond on their over fenders and didn't realize till after the fact they didn't do anything to the metal underneath. What i wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall for that shitstorm. |
