God, I just ate... I could have done without that, let alone the non-chopped pics of your car. Maybe you should give up the art of tuning and study the art of tire sizes.

The problem with 240 bumpers and FC bumpers is that, the FC bumper mounts to the fenders via a verticle seam and meets at the hood, the 240 (as with almost all cars) has a horizontal cutoff that wraps around and goes all the way back to the wheels, so...... you really have to mod a stock FC bumper, or go with an available aftermarket. However, putting th epart of an FC bumper that's above the OEM turn signals, with the lower part of a 240 bumper might align closely. Look at how similar the cars are in dimension.(I took this picture)

also, just another comparo pick, but more importantly, I just love htis shot.

(everywhere on the FC where there is a crease, there is a curve on the 240 even down to the wheels, I like the edgyness on the 7 more)

it would be hacking of fiberglass.. use the top mounting area of FC bumper.. and basically pasting the bottom portion of the s13 bumper

When i decide to detune my car Ill give you a call maybe you could help me dislike functional tuning styling. EDIT- I see your location, so ill excuse you for not knowing. Not every one knows about functional tuning.

Some conversion are tasteful , i remember seeing a NSX in a Japanese publication with celica head lights and it looked really good. Its kind of like a tuning statement when done nice. Car tuning is an art.

im curious how late model NSX headlights would look, obiously more expensive.
There is an Ugly white FC Vert In canada with this done. It was on Ebay a few years ago, I don't have a picture but someone must. It looks horrible because of how curved they are.

Another person did 300ZX lights from a mid 90's one and made a custom bumper. That actually looked nice. I'll search for it, but that was a few years ago too.

Celica lights look really bad on a FC though, so if you try somethign, please do 300zx lights.

Molotovman - Thank you I really appreciate your reply, you did not point fingers at me or question my taste. Thank you I really appreciate it =p

Yah it was just a idea i was curious how it would look. I love those high end japanese tuner cars that do crazy stuff like how Re-Amemiya does their porsche stuff etc, even if it may not be the best looking, they still do it.

Woooow, *throws up in mouth*

Why do people butcher the beauty of the FC so much?

How about trying to photoshop some NSX headlights- flip ups or projectors. Those look awesome.

a quick photoshop of the stock s13 bumper on an FC with the mod done below the signals.

sorry, had to brighten the image up a bit to see what i was cutting
also, try not to look at the far right of the bumper the end makes it look like the bumper is off center, i messed up one of the layers, without noticing till after i merged them.

I don't get it. Why buy a car and then try to make it look like another? That's like hooking up with Jessica Alba and trying to make her look like Britney Spears.

honestly, i love the look of the FC and when i get mine the only mod i plan on doing is cutting the grill from the S5 bumper. Still, people have unique tastes, and i would rather someone test things out on photoshop before hacking away at an FC, and then realizing they've made a terrible mistake.

IMO, if you are going to do a mod like this, why not just buy an aftermarket front bumper that looks like that? I'm sure they have fronts that look near identacle that are made specifically for the FC.

Molotov, That black one isn't hideous, not my taste and those wheels are garbage, but it doesn't look like dog-**** diahrea, but the lowest one does. That's really bad. It actually reminds me of a stop sign around here. We all call it the "down syndrome stop sign" (please, no offense to the down syndrome sufferers here if there are any. No disrespect.). That FC reminds me of down syndrome.
ROFL, or Hitler with that front license plate.

Hypertek's first photoshop FC front end looks like a shitty feed front end conversion for an FC owner wishing he had an FD.

like the integra owners who put older style honda accord front ends on to make it look like an authentic Type-R. lol.

...before you throw a bitch fit Hypertek, not saying you have bad style or anything. I just pointed out the exact thing that would pop in my head if I were to see that done in real life.

frankly Im all for modding..

Im not venting, but im just expressing my feelings.

Alot of you guys seem close minded about modding rx7s.. when someone wants to do something creative or new , people are like "oh no dont mod an rx7 it looks goood stock!" , well thats fine, you can stick with your everyday stock rx7, or you can mod it, try to get recognition for it, get it in a magazine or something, do a car show etc.

Theres all kinds of aspects behind tuning..
NSX style front bumper on FC.. I think its awesome

The front lip area is a bit much, but it has potential.

Im curious how an fc would look with a nsx style front end

Frankly tuning would not be without modding ****.

Dont forget our cars are over 15-20 years old.. they are not the mona lisa of the auto world.

You ever look at rat rods? I tend to think of my car as a modern day rat rod.. **** pieced together for function, not the prettiest, sore on the eyes, but still hot and pleasing.

Its cool, you guys can stick with stock everyday rx7s, or enjoy it and be creative and do something to get recognized for it.

as long as your creativity doesnt look like **** like this

theres a big difference between actual japanese influence, and typical american idea of "rice"

I like that you're thinking, and I like that you're creative, BUT if you don't like seeing "busted up" FCs at meets, stop hanging out with poor broke losers. I've seen your tail light thing, not my cup of tea, but you obviously know how to do good work. Good work is not sportmax, knock off body kits, or jurry rigged body parts from another car slapped on sloppily and sprayed primer. Good work is expensive with herritage, or the new guy on the block with enough confidence in him self to do a good job and follow through. Right now you're the new guy, and like a said I like what your doing, but bragging about Sportmax in your sig makes you look like an idiot. I'm waiting for you to do something that we haven't seen before and really set the bar for aftermarket headlight tuning/customising/upgrading/etc. Get to it son, the forum's too full of Junior's that think they know what they're doing but don't. I'll be waiting...

hmm could be a regional thing.. seems alot of guys on non-coastal states dont seem to be open minded about jdm influence on tuning... theres more to suspension setups then spring/shock combos.

oh i wasnt braggin on sportmax.. lol.. crap wheels everyone has em

Wheels make or break the overall look.. Ive seen so-so setup cars on hot wheels, which eventually makes the car look overal good.. where as ive seen cars that had tons of body work etc, and finished off with cheap horrible sized sportmax or anything like that, which overral kills the whole package.

The problem isn't that you're modding the RX7. The problem is that you're not following the body lines at all. The 7 is angular but not as angular as the celica. Put them both together and it looks like dingleberries.

I don't think it has anything to do with it. What JDM influence are you talking about and how does CHANGING and SLAPPING ON RANDOM FRONT ENDS have to do with tuning? You want to be the Bozosuku of the west coast?

lol, don't start your bullshit again bro. Everytime anyone voices an opinion that isn't like yours you get all bitchy. Just stop. You did the same **** in your LED thread. Everyone praised it (after all it was a sweet MOD) but you acted like a douche, so don't start again. Try to act like an adult for a lil bit.

Now, let's use the examples you posted.

what's wrong with the scoot car?
the rear end. Does not flow with the rest of the car.

What's wrong with the RE-Amemiya FDs?
Nothing, the front end flows with the rest of the car.

do you kinda understand my point about fluidity?? You can modify it all you want but try to make it look at LEAST decent.
