Lightbulb Bumper Cutting Techniques!!!! Opinions? (Pictures)

Ok guys I need some opinions/help. Aside from buying a new aftermarket front bumper, I need a way to get more airflow to the IC, radiator and trans cooler. Only the bottom 3 or 4 inches actually see air flow on my car. Ive seen few people cut a "slot" out of the middle of the bumper. This doesnt look bad but I thought about trying something a little different. Ideas? Pictures of some different setups would be awesome!

Here are a few of my car

This is VERY VERY rough outline of what I was thinking. Also I could cut a trapezoid shaped section out of the middle "bar" that runs horizontal in between the F2P lights

And heres another members car.

My reason for doing this is not because I want to cut my bumper up. The bumper is already kind of rough with chips and cracks.

Thanks,
Chandler

^^^ Do not like.... at all!

If you do cut it, I say just go to the molding, too much always looks horrible, imo

I tend to agree. I think what I have taped off might be a little to much. I would like to carry the "curve" up, instead of cutting it straight though. You mean the part between the ambers when you say molding right?

anything more then the molding is too much in my opinion.

I doubled the area up with a piece of another bumper so that it would not distort

Wow that looks really good. Could you tell a difference in IATs or coolant temp?

Exactly, just look at Robs, his is perfect. Cutting off that extra 1.5 inches just ruins it all.

cutting too much will probably also result in a distorted bumper after some time in the sun

Not my car but someones on here. You can do something like this. I think that the lip really helps pull the look off.

If you got the Odula lip you can cut out the bottom section of the bumper and just drop the intercooler lower. God damn that thing must be quick

OP's original idea would look pretty bad. The pig nose set up (reminds me of the early 240SX) looks much cleaner while giving you the airflow you want.

I think this looks halfway decent. Thats the look I was going for with the tape on my car. It needs something though. What about some aftermarket bumpers? Im somewhat new to the FC body kits. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Chandler
