Turbo?

Does any1 know what Turbo Ryosuke uses or is it just the stock one? I think when he did the detune he went back to the stock Turbo but they don't say what the upgraded one was. Any have an idea?

MaczPayne 07-21-08 02:20 AM

Most likely a hybrid turbo since he's using a top mount.

I didn't notice he had a TMIC. I need to find some pics of his Engine bay then and give it a good once over.

SpideyFan6010 07-22-08 10:24 AM

Rims?

Would 17'' MS-01S need spacers? Does any1 know?

Here is a link with some info about the rims

K!NCH 07-22-08 11:06 AM

Depends on the width.

7.5 will be ok.
8.5 and 9.5 need spacers.

9.5 will not fit up front with stock fenders. 8.5 might rub also.

i think in stage one where he races Fujiwara, theres a still of his bay and i think there was no intercooler, but looked like methanol injection. Although, the video quality was very shitty.

with that high of an offset you worry about the strut getting rubbed, not really the fender. my bro has FN's with 9.5 and 12 offset and has barely rolled stock fenders.

Yeah I ment strut, but I could edit it.

Would the 9.5 provide that much more performance to go threw all the trouble in getting the spacers and customization and what not. Cause if no I will just use the 7.5.

Well you're gonna be up to close to 300hp I'd go with the 8.5 all around or stagger it like 7.5/8.5 or 8.5/9.5

So basically it is just personal Preference?

Well bigger wheels and a stagger will give it more of an aggressive look. Plus the wider rear will help with traction. I'd go with the 8.5 all around, so I could rotate my tires. But that's my preference.

Zenki FC3S 07-23-08 05:14 PM

yeah i got work vs-xx 9.5 in tha rear and 8 in tha front. now that i am going turbo im gonna change the barrel on tha 8 in to a 10 +9 offset. im gonna need to get the bigger barrel to fit a 235 cuz the power increase. i dont use spacers or anything and the rims fit fine. i recommend buying 16x8 or a 15x7 in wheels cuz its easier to drift low speed turns.when you increase your rev b4 a turn then you need a bigger rim to to keep some traction.

I am just trying to get the size Ryosuke has on his FC. His Wheel base is 96.5 inches.

Now if you are going to buy the MS-01S and are going to put alot of effort into drifting and become a skilled driver, then get the 17x9.5 cuz you would be able to put a stretched 225/40/17 on there for less traction and still have the chance to fit a bigger tire for more traction, later down the road.

Now the 17x9.5 comes in a +38 offset, which with a 9.5 inch rim, would fit fine with no spacers, and would clear the strut.

Now, none of this would look good without Coilovers, so get a good quality set.

Good luck with the Replica, just dont let anyone down and actually drift the FC.

yeah. they would give a great stance and look mean on the scene.

there is a pic of ry's engine bay in episode 22. looks crazy, almost like theres no TMIC.

I think he has a FMIC cause I don't see anything on the top at all. I doubt he has SMIC but there defiantly isn't one on the top of the engine.

Stage 1 Episode 24 part 2 of 3 scoobyfan977 has the 1st and last staged posted if any one is interested in watching the series.

Zenki FC3S 07-25-08 06:23 PM

Yeah, the intake piping runs from the turbo towards the manifold, i dont think he runs a intercooler and runs water/methanol injection to cool intake temps.

need RX7 07-25-08 06:32 PM

It looks like the old HKS front mount kit, the piping runs that way so you can keep P/S and A/C
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/kl...s/DSCF3270.JPG

Zenki FC3S 07-25-08 08:47 PM

yeah thats the shit right there. Honestly, thats excessive piping, and will not give good flow from the turbo to the Manifold.

RotaryWeaponSE7EN 07-25-08 09:04 PM

You can use the greddy kit with ps and ac

Rye_Takahashi 07-25-08 10:11 PM

I love these cars guys keep the pictures coming :D Initial D ftw....note the username

SpideyFan6010 07-28-08 04:42 PM

Suspension?

I was gonna get the TIEN Flex system for comfort and performance but later on I might end up getting the Super Drift ones. I don't want to get the Super Drift since it is gonna be my Daily Driver :P

K!NCH 07-28-08 11:50 PM

They're adjustable so I dont see why not...

SpideyFan6010 07-29-08 03:22 AM

Super Drift

Does any know how they are for ride quality when they are not adjusted so stiffly?

You could probably adjust them to ride like the stock suspension does.

Also, you could look in to Stance. I think they're cheaper than the Teins, and just as good. Also there are KSPORTs which are cheaper than both.

kts is where its at man....they make coilovers for hks so basically when you buy hks your buying over priced kts...or so my friend says haha :P

Zenki FC3S 07-30-08 09:59 AM

yeah, i can get KSPORT Slide Kontrolls for $900. They are great and have a inverted monotube design, are compression and rebound adjustable, and have 36ways of dampening adjustment.

I am running a 10 spring rate in front and 13 in tha rear. its really stiff(on the softest setting), because of the HIGH spring rates, so if you get the rates they recommend, 9 front 7 rear, you would be riding pretty comfortable.

Do they have a EDFC feature like the TIEN's? where I can do adjustments in a few seconds?

Zenki FC3S 07-30-08 05:23 PM

They are manually adjusted and the dampening can be adjusted on the bottom of the front strut, and the top of the rear. i set mine up and they feel great so i left them alone. Dampening is something you dont really need to adjust often, if at all.

It is like a set it and forget kinda thing. Cause I was gonna change it from when I goto the track and then back to normal driving conditions.

How do you guys get your 7's to pass emissions?

Oh crap, I cant believe I just wasted my life reading this thread.

To the OP: Dont be homo, relicars are gay no matter how you slice it. So are repli-bikes...

To the idiots drooling over the car show whores. They dont like the cars they stand beside, they just want a picture of thier ass to make it in a magazine. They probably think they are standing next to a honda civic. Personally I would rather not have to worry about Hepatitus juices on my car..

You are such a douche. "im going to build my car because of a fictional car/cartoon"

How about be original? Build a car that actually exists based on something you came up with, not a cartoon.

"hey guys check out my Flinstones replica car, I cut the floorboards out of my Rx-7 so I can drive with my feet."

The other 7 posted on here (replicar) is clean and well put together, but would look even sweeter without all the decals.

Plus Napster, your car is a quazi replicar, you might as well have stuck redsuns stickers on you mom's white lumina.

SouthSideSlider 08-01-08 02:24 PM

calm pople calm.... napster your sticker are horrably sized and shaped. you car is nice but it needs more work to be a real ryosuke relipcar

Its a bother how annoying you are.

If you'll read my previous post youll see i never even heard of Initial D until my car was completed. Therefore i did not build my car to be just likesRys.

I just threw a sticker on it cause its white and RHD.

And I dont even have the sticker on my car any more.

Why would you take the time to read and look at all the stuff in this thread to state how you fell about Replica's? Any, ways have a good day and I hope all your future projects are a great success.

Peace

RRTEC 08-02-08 01:23 PM

Peace... It's your car, do what you want., I just hate it when cool cars like ours get a bad name because of "useless trashy modifications"..

To Napster: I know why you did what you did, it makes no sense, but I have read your explanation. Your car is white and RHD, great reason.. I had a black trans-am I guess I should have put a LED light bar in the front and called it kipp??

uh......why didn't you!?!?! That would be badass.

It was Kit, btw.

HASSLEHOFF FTW!

I was thinking the same thing, I should get a black FC and put a LED light bar on it.
