Not a lot of great roads out here that aren't patrolled heavily by our highway patrol and packed with ricers driving incredibly dangerously. Rotarybeat, you are the envy of 7club.
Edit:
Oh yeah, and that last one passes as a mountain in SoCal. But it's summit is only a measly 9,800ft higher than the surrounding terrain, giving it one of the greatest vertical relief of any peak in the lower 48 (that includes CO with your ancient, rolling hills ;-) ).
And of course we don't get any snow here, either.

been of the computer for a while but got back.
so was able to make it up to lookout a few times before the snow hit again.
cars, eclipse(me), 96 civic ex, 93 preulde auto, 94 civic ex 4 door.
i should be the slowest but the civics are to scared to go ahead of me.
prelude is the fastest, with his snow tires and mad engine braking abilities.
my eclipse is too f-in heavy.
i can keep for about half the mountain then suffer horrid brake fade.
so who wants to fix my fc for a 100 bucks so i can make it to the mountains in it?
anyone? huh? huh?
haha, shyte.

rotary beat driving touge in the SNOW.
*****.
I dont care if you're taking the hairpins at 15 miles an hour, thats still *****.
I'm waiting til the snow melts up there. Not like i have a choice. I have a SHITLOAD of work that needs to be done to the fc. Parts are piling up because i'm lazy and too ***** to brave the cold.

Nice pics up on Baldy. It's a tad different right now due to our high precipitation totals.
That is a different turn. There are a series of turns up there that all look similar. That is likely the southern of the two low-2nd gear tight turns.
I sold my FC. I can't afford anything right now due to school, but once I'm out and breathing again, I hope to build up a mean RX3, all black, 2dr, '75 or earlier to avoid Cali smog rules. :-) I'm driving an '80 TE72 'Rolla at the moment. I miss Rotary engines. :-( Drove an RX8 around Thanksgiving, on the street after showing my buddy the roads in the mountains. I didn't get to push it, so no real opinion.
Y'all should go up and drive in "bad driving conditions", if you don't already. The more training, the better you'll get. Driving on snow and ice/black ice is a blast, and makes dry tarmac easy peasy.
Some pics
Rotarybeat, I dig that roadside ice. Wish I could go drive out there and then climb that.
Keep the faith, guys.

whats a Turbo V?
man i love the fact you have such a nice car but you arn't afriad to drive it. most people would barely drive that in perfect weather let alone in the snow.
using that car as it should be a beautiful as it is its not a statue its ment to be driven. LOL

Edit:
Is this the same place as my second picture I posted, just before they paved the turnout and added power lines? Mine is the road up to Mt. Baldy.

I'm willing to bet that most people have at least SOME size cache on their browsers.

Wow man thank you!! Which RX-8 is yours? Sorry, there were a lot of RX-8 guys there and I wasn't able to make it to lunch to hang out after the cruise due to work. Link me to some pics of your car on 8club

Cruised up and down Pikes Peak 4 times yesterday. Was just about the most fun I've had on a mountain pass. Was haulin ***** thru the dirt and came sliding up to the rangers blocking the road! Yelled at me for about 10 seconds, told me to slow it down, but to still have fun. It was classic! And just enjoyed the whole day so much! Definitely worth the trip! Here's a few pics. Sorry was more into the driving then taking pictures of good corners. But enjoy! I sure did
Waitin on a dump truck, lol
Yes, I even drove thru the dirt with the custom paint (although with my plans this winter it won't matter )
A fox who seemed quite intrigued by the rotaries, haha
