Yeah of course, I'm just in the mood to argue. I do think swerving is a bad habit to get into however, easy to make a bad accident worse. but meh, venison is great. I'd rather hit a deer than a guardrail.

I still win BTW. Cheyenne "mountain" is like lookout. Its a foothill bra, not in the mountains.

Venison is fantastic. Seeing as I sold my "deer rifle", an RX7, Z, or Silvia will have to do the job instead.

What?!? How can you say that? Cheyenne is a massive mountain, just cause its close to Pikes Peak doesn't make it small. Its just like comparin someone thats 6'3" to like Shaq or somethin. Doesn't mean they're short. Plus, Gold Camp and High Drive are amazing roads to haul *** on, and I know every corner, been runnin em since I was 16. So you ever wanna drive these roads hit me up, always lookin for new people to leave in the dust.... I mean run with....

yeah dude, it's a foothill. Just like lookout. Ever hear local news say **** like, "the foothills may get X inches of snow"? they're talking about you. They may pass for mountains in socal, haha. You don't have to show me pictures, I've been there plenty of times. I used to drive down to Helen Hunt like 4 times a week, haha.

same ****.

It's all relative.

One of my favorite roads leads to the highest peak in the lower 48.

And another fun series of roads that ends with a dirt section leads up to one of the longest mountaineering climbs in the US:

I believe a mountain isn't a foothill if you've climbed it and deemed it to be a mountain. :-)

Anywho. TOOOOJ!

Oh yeah, and that last one passes as a mountain in SoCal. But it's summit is only a measly 9,800ft higher than the surrounding terrain, giving it one of the greatest vertical relief of any peak in the lower 48 (that includes CO with your ancient, rolling hills ;-) ).

And of course we don't get any snow here, either.

And none of these SoCal hills are in my backyard...

'Course I drive a Nissan, so what could I know...

Next.

People avoid hypothermia?

A cool shot of my favorite road:

Kills brakes on the downhill on this other road. Nothing like a 6,000ft elevation loss to test 'em out.

Especially when you go from cold weather to something else...

After the fun road that takes you from 4,000ft ASL to 10,000ft ASL. Headaches FTW. Where's my diamox? ;-)

A fellow S13 guy, I see...

I wish Edmunds/Inside Line would stop closing my road so I can drive more often.

That was my girlfriend's S13, now my roommates. It's been getting a 1JZ swap for like the last 2.5 years, hahaha.

I'll have to dig up/take some more touge pics for this thread. god I hope my ******* seals came today!

oh yeah, side note, mt evans is home to a LOT of auto testing. I've seen suzuki, mercedes, cadillac, hyundai, mazda and all kinds of **** up there testing cars. apparently a lot of them make a run from death valley to mt evans. the lowest to the highest points you can reach in a car in N america.

indeed. Every CO driver should know that road, it's great. Especially the "low machine gauntlet" near summit lake.

top tip: you don't have to pay their ridiculous fee if you're only driving the road. Only if you plan to use the facilities/pull over. Or just go at night.

This, rock rim drive, the black canyon, independence, lookout, guanella, oh my god road, and pikes peak are all must drives.

I should have an old KE70 Corolla in this weekend. I hope to build an econo-drifter of sorts out of it. Gotta go to Colorado and check those roads out!

Cool pics, guys. Especially that one with the massive whale with the RX7 on her lower hemisphere.

yeah def come out sometime. I'm down to show people a road or two, even if the 7 is down I at least have my focus. I'm sure other guys would be down as well. Stay in Denver or a mountain town tho, the springs is kind of an armpit, haha. Come out for next years hillclimb or stop by on your way to the dragon or something. don't go thru the SW, take I-70, it's worth it.

Yeah, I'd be aiming towards Ouray-ish in early winter I guess. That is, unless, that would be a great way to get hopelessly trapped...

I don't know about Ouray, That's pretty far from me. Overall winter isn't nearly as bad as you may think. Nothing like a midwest or northeast winter, no way **** that ****. Snow doesn't stick around on the roads for very long. usually it's melted the same day it snowed. Ski resorts and higher elevation places are different of course.

Sweet, good to know. Didn't know if it was like some places we have up in NorCal where they get 25ft of snow and are f*cked for a while. Screw that. Can't even find your goddamn house.

Got my new, 29-year-old 'rolla...

Gonna hafta sell the FC!

Keep it to night, or find a road that doesn't have so much traffic. That is rediculous to do that during the day; the least you can do is stay in your own lane.

Its cool. hes still well within the limits of the car I mean...if an oncoming car popped up anywhere along those corners hed still have like..50% of his tires grip to use.

Yes, that is right we are running at day only on 60-70% most of oncoming traffic was my friends red 240sx, Accord Type-R, Civic Type-R and others... For heel toe I can use heel toe but only if racing againts someone, not on practise runs
Here is video from another hill
