Close. I don't have any pictures of driving the 330 to Big Bear.
The 38 that goes from Mt San Gorgonio around to Big Bear, approaching from the east, is a really great road. Lower traffic, more technical, more side-roads. Real fun in the snow.

I don't have any pics of my car on the touge but here is a film of the last run i made...
The film is a bit old but in this night i got really scared because while doing the run back my brakes went completly out on a S curve... I was really lucky that nothing happend and i never got back there...
Still I wanna go back when i finish what i'm doing on the car :P

Stock brakes? If so, did you take a break after your first run to let them cool off a bit?
Gotta get a mount going for your camera. I mounted my cam to a rear speaker screw hole above the right rear strut tower.
Here's one where I was getting used to the car, and driving stick again after 6 months without.

The problem was that i pushed the brakes too much on the uphill (as you can listen in the movie) and then came the downhill... usually I feel the brakes giving up but that time one of the calipers started loosing oil... And hte brakes ran completly out... I don't quite know what caused that...
Nice movie!
I'm starting to miss some touge action

I don't mean to sound intrusive by asking so many questions, just BTDT, so figured I may be able to help.
How steep is your uphill? Doesn't look too steep in the video, though a lot is lost in videos coming from most digicams. If it's steep enough (5-7 degrees usually), you don't get a helluva lotta fade going uphill if you know the course and use the engine to slow down prior to a turn. Learning heel toe often shaves a significant amount of time off of newer drivers uphill, as they don't need to slow down as much to combat wheelspin from not heel-toeing, if that makes any grammatical sense.

I was doing heel and tow, the squizzing you hear is because i brake too late and i have to block the wheels right before the corner and then release the brakes a bit... Because if i don't do the heel and toe, passing from 3rd to 2nd the car immediately shift locks and that is someting i really don't want specialy when the road is wet...
About the calipers... I really don't know what has been done to them... I know my old mechanic had a lot of trouble when i bought the car because on the front, only one caliper of the 4 was working... Now i don't know how true this is because i got scammed and now I really don't know what he did...
Anyway, now I have the brakes in good condition but IO'm thinking of getting some APRacing 6 caliper on front and maybe put my front ones in the back... Still thinking about a good solution and there are other prioritys on the car...

I need to get some videos up of the touge runs around here. There are some AMAZING roads. These are a couple of my favorites. I drove the Fortuna, CA to Ruth, CA road this last weekend, so much fun. It says it takes 2+hrs, I finished it in 1hr 15mins. 
There is even one section for about 3 miles that doesn't have double yellows! It's like a race track. The other is Hwy. 299 from Redding, CA to Eureka, CA. It follows next to a river most of the time and is beautiful if you go slow. I drove that road last year when CA was having massive fires. I was breaking in a new clutch and drove 500 miles in one night. I came back through the fires literally at about 5am on 299 and there were fires on the sides of the road, very scary but very fun. Wish I had video.

Cool deal. Stock brakes should be easy to figure out. It's probably something simple. I know what you mean about priorities, hell, I can barely afford gas! :-(

yeah i don't have any touge stories to share mainly cause touge has to die down for a while in my area. i still try and go once a month but its not a group thing anymore. which is good cause it keeps authority off us :]
couple months ago my friends did a touge run on highway 49 and while chilling at the "drift turn" watching a couple of people run the cops busted them. one everyone got tickets for aiding and abedding of exhibition of speed and i think two of my friends got accused for: Exhibition of speed, speeding, reckless driving and drifting. the cars were a first gen M3 and a srt-4. so since then my friends either travel out to davis from sac for touge or just a handful of us hit another road no one else will run cause "there are no guard rails".

Yeah the other night on old cali 3 of my friends were chillin after a drift session and 2 cops came up. Said "we know you are drifting so get out of here". They didn't even care about one of the S13s expired tags just told em to leave. By the time I got up there the cops had just left so I got lucky (I have bad luck with cops).

Busy day up there, Macz. TONS of people up there last night for the meteor showers (you can barely watch it up there due to light pollution). no FC's though, just an SA22/FB.
Got a vid up, doing a daytime drive, playing it safe due to traffic and the usual amount of rockfall. I reckon the guys on the bikes were new to canyon riding (whatever term it may be), as they were taking it really easy. Let them pass, and took some car-killer rocks off the road.

Did this after taking a ton of weight out: AC condensor, compressor, all AC/climate components under dash, some wiring, interior door panels, took the foam padding off the entire dash except for the glovebox, etc. Probably a weight loss of 75lbs in front of the driver's seat. Understeer became more pronounced. Just getting in corners and letting off the gas a tad bit partway through the corner to initiate some oversteer to take care of the inherent understeer. Also, stock suspension on old springs, so it's like a rotary rowboat as far as stiffness goes. ;-)
Need to do some pedal work, as the gas pedal is recessed too far. Hard for a 6'4" guy to heel-toe it with big clown feet and a standard steering wheel. No friggin' space to move. Gotta fix that... someday when I magically didn't have to pay for school and have lots of spending money to put into suspension etc etc instead of Coors Light.
Hit a pothole yesterday and bent my front right rim. POS wheels anyway.

Gave a lot of other touge racers a run for their money.

Actually that reminds me. I raced marco andretti(michael andretti's son) once at oakland valley race track in NY(Most known N.W track) Was up his A$$ the whole time....he never maid a mistake.

This thread does depress me because i've yet to do any runs on agressive roads with this car. A true sports car made for corners that i built to exceed my current limits. For now, it's tokyo extreme racer drift and a shitload of beer to trick myself into it being somewhat real.......... Dont misunderstand. I dont drive drunk.

Hey, if i could, i'd live vicariously through other people instead of enjoying myself. It doesn't quite get my rocks off though.

Well, you could just get a caliper rebuild kit. That's what i would do, well that IS what i'm doing. I really want to get some project mu pads and source a new booster if mine is shot...which it may be. Definately want some ss lines and some better rotors. I have 16lb wheels and it's fairly easy to stop and slow down. I've locked up my brakes several times but i've learned what to do and what not to do in my car since then. I'm learning the car.

Hypertek, seriously? Maybe some of us actually do legit events also, there's just something about the mountain roads thats unlike anything else. Finally found some people to drive our mountains with, so I have a new video, just need my friend to upload it and I'll post it. It felt very unsafe doin the video, my friend was all hangin out of my sunroof as I'm haulin *****! Kinda funny tho, he's the only person I'd trust not to fall out...
