Difference between S4 and S5 cars or s4 and s5 tails? The tails are not a absolute direct bolt on for coupes between series, but it is not hard to make them fit. I know its possible to put S5 vert tails on a S4 coupe but the verts tails are not as wide because of the plastic portion where the key goes for the trunk. If you can get them in there the only way to open the trunk will be from inside. I havnt heard of anyone trying to put S4 coupe tails on a S5 vert.

No, you can't put coupe tail lights on a vert. They are too long, and will not work with the trunk lock / release.

Hmm... well crap just my luck should have ask first I guess, but hey I am still going to try! Not like I use the trunk any way... Damn lol now am pissed. I think I can get it to work but your right SpikeDerailed the only way I will be able to open the trunk will be from inside... I hope this works lol. On the up side if it works I get to say I did one of the first S4 coupe tails to a S5 vert Just hope I did not blow my money on them.

I was just asking the over all diff between the S4 and S5 cars.

Thanks guys

you can but will need to be modifyed to hold the key hole other then that S4 tails bolt right on to S5s (i know my car runs 10AE tails)

you can put them, there is some metal that needs to be trimmed, and you will lose the keyhole and the ability to use the key obviously. When you have the tails off the vert you will also have to remove the license plate illuminators but you will get that back with the coupe lights. You will also obviously need the center section

I just put coupe lights on my vert, but I used S5 lights- same **** different application.

For what it is worth just get a set of vert lights, s5 have come down greatly in price, and s4s are really cheap.

here is the only photo I have, showing the right light and center section installed

Well I knew it had to be done befor lol. I dont think am going to put key hole on the 10AE tails I think it will keep it cleaner looking, just make it so i can only open it inside but hey it works. SouthSideSlider got any pic of of them on your vert?

Hey Rob what center section are you talking about, the license plate rack? Over all I dont like Vert lights if my Vert was black i would not mind, s5 look good but Idk there is somthing about look of the s4 tails for the10AE that look so good to me. But hey coupe lights just look better all around, Rob your car is show that.

Thanks for you time guys

they are just white housings, paint your existing housings if you want the white look.

and yes if you go coupe lights you obviously need the license plate section

Cuz the white S4 tails look alot better on then the S5 tails do on a white car. Plus I just like the S4 tails>

And hey good luck with your 12A swap haha am just glad its not a LS1 haha. Cuz hey you know your tails are equal to your engine.
