Smile Wiring Question

If I was to go with either a Microtech LTX-12s or a Haltech e11v2, would I have to keep the stock 20B wiring harness in order to hook up the ECUs I just listed or could I just use the provided wiring that the Micortech and Haltech come with and hook everything up to the engine with no problem. I know there's custom fab work involved, but my question is that when buying a 20B, would I need to buy the wiring harness with it or would that be of no worth to me? Please let me know quick guys. Thanks beforehand....

If using a aftermarket ecu you would not need the complete wiring harness, but you would need the connectors/plugs for the sensors, injectors etc.

ya that's exactly what i was thinking. hahaha you also saved me on the last thread i made about the air box question. thanks a lot man for the help, seriously. i know i sound like a noob and all, but i wanna learn EVERYthing before i actually get all the parts and get down and dirty and start doing everything, and plus: i don't want to get to a certain point find out i did something wrong. my whole car is basically stripped inside and out and waiting for my three rotor to come so i could do all the work to it and stick it in. again, thanks for everything and i wish you luck with your car man....

One word of warning. I Currently have a AEM for my 20B FD, a Apexi Power FC for my 13B FD, and a Microtech LT10S in my T2 and have installed a Wol3D in a T2. After having worked with all of these ECU's the one that I would never buy again is the Microtech. The Microtech is the smallest of all, but even though Microtech USA has claimed on its web site that maps can be saved and loaded from disk, THAT IS ETHER A LIE OR THEY DONT KNOW THERE OWN PRODUCT. After trying to move a LT10S that was factory programed to run on a FD to a FC I discovered that I can't change the trigger in software even though but the FD and FC use reluctor pickups. When I called Microtech I was told that it has to to shipped back to them to be reprogramed for a fee. The WHOLE POINT of a stand alone EMS system is to alow ME to change the settings as I SEE FIT. Save your self alot a trouble and and time by buying something that will let YOU save or load new maps.

the maps can be saved, its just kinda tricky to figure it out.

as far as the configurability, thats also why i got rid of the microtech

it is the easiest one to set up tho, which is kinda the flip side of the config thing.
